Team DIY

When it comes to DIY-ing for weddings, you can't do it alone. I'm glad that Kevin, my sisters and Ju Leen were on board with me and I can't be anymore thankful. :)

A couple of weeks before the wedding, we had to drop off our props at Wonderland and we checked with them if we could assemble our pinwheels at their warehouse to avoid any risk of damaging them.

We took half day off from work, picked up Ju Leen and we were well on our way over. We got down to business, working the glue gun and sticking the pinwheel to the stick. We had alot of pinwheels to assemble, but we whizzed through them all amidst chatter and laughters. :)

Putting in the pinwheels carefully into the long boxes... Almost done!

After we have packed all our stuff, we dropped Ju Leen off and we decided to checked out the recently opened (in September 2013) Tiramisu Hero Cafe (by local blogger Peggy and her partner Aileen) for a tea break.

I love the decoration of the place, it's really cute and whimsical with fairy lights coiled around ladders hanging upside down from the ceilings and doodles of Sir Antonio the mascot.

We ordered some food and waited for them to be served. While I can't recall exactly how each item tasted (after such a long time), I know I would be back around for more (which I did, with my sister a couple of months back).

Savoury Creamy Salmon - This is really nice and the portion I was served was so huge that I couldn't finish it! When the chef came out and asked for feedback, I told her that it's all good, just that the portion was really too much for me. Maybe they had reduced the size of the fillet from then on? I'll never know till I order the same dish again.

Of course, we must end the meal with something sweet. We got the tiramisu that possibly started this whole business to try and several bottles to bring home to share with my family. :)

Donuts!!

My initial plan yesterday was to go Holland V with my sister and charlotte to check out the vintage t-shirts at HV/0102, go town to shop and down to Raffles City to queue for donuts from Donut Factory, and to surprise Keller who was hospitalised since Friday.

In preparation for the wait while queueing, I brought my PDA and my current read "The Tipping Point" out. Butbutbut... Bern who was working (due to the SWATCH FIVB Beach Volley World Tour) said there's a doughnut parlour at VivoCity and he offered to queue there for doughnuts (so sweet lah!!).

So in the end, we went to FEP, walkedwalked and bought lots of food (think Chippy fried Mars bar, beer battered fish, sweet buttered toast, milk tea etc). I really don't know how to describe the taste of the fried mars bar. It's.... undescribable, and I don't think I'll be eating it again. HAHAHAHAHA. The fat content of the Mars bar doubles after all that frying.. that's a deterrent. x)

Made a call to mum to ask if Keller's still in the hospital, and you know what? She's discharged! Thank God we made a call before making a wasted trip down, and luckily Bern was still queueing up for the donuts. =P Called him to inform him to go down to my uncle's place instead.

After that, we walked around abit more before we left to go to my uncle's place.
Bern came with the donuts from Vinco!! =D

Here we have: Stormy Peanut, Sweety Cheese, Chocolate Delight, Chocolate Cinnamon, Mighty Almond, Sky Berry, Mon Cherie and many many more! =D

The family have commented that they are pretty good, and my very anal(oops!) aunt said there's no stale taste of oil. And I pretty much enjoyed them too! Heeeee, people please go queue at Donut Factory ok? =D

Oh by the way, go get ur Shrek ears ($2) from McDonalds' for a good cause!

Taste a little piece of French

Met Bern for dinner before I popped over to Shu's 21st birthday bash. Since Shu's birthday venue is at Cafe Domus located at Owen Road, Bern decided to bring me to the French Stall located at Sturdee Road North. :)

The French Stall.

It's a really nice place, with its walls decorated with posters, food reviews and articles regarding the stall.

Me sipping on water

My baby

He keeps me entertained (:

My good subject =D

The last face that porkloin sees before it's devoured.

Yummy porkloin with mushroom sauce. Btw, there's ham and cheese sandwiched in between the slab of juicy meat.

My pan fried dory fillet with mashed potatoes. It's really tasty and I felt full by the time I was almost done with it *beams*

=D

Of course, how can we forget about desserts!? We order the crusty, chocolate-coated profiterole with vanilla ice-cream and chocolate sauce.... *licks lips*

Tuck in tuck in!

I really like the place... =) Reasonably priced, great food and pleasant experience there, I will come back another time when I'm craving for French food x)

2nd trip to Lao Beijing

Food food, glorius food!
Pictures courtesy of tancy x)

This trip to Lao Beijing is a.... Chiuyan's farewell-cum-Mr Ong belated birthday lunch. Hahaha, and also Tracy's first Lao Beijing trip with us! The last time she had taken sick leave and missed out on good food we had. =P

We're at this table that has a small aquarium underneath. There's a fish inside too! But it takes over under this leafy thingy and sleeps most of the time.

Mr Ong looking through the menu..

Ariel's 八宝茶 or 8 Treasures tea.

New year came early! Let's lao yusheng! =D It was not bad, I actually ate all the shavings of vegetables because the sauce overpowered the natural taste of vegetables and it was crunchy. =P

Our soup, very nuritious.

Peking duck! =D

and lovely juicy xiaolongbaos

Ariel wants a bite of the fishy.

mushrooms, not my thing.

Food was really good, majority of the dishes are meat! =P So I was really eating away happily...

Look! We even had a mask-changing performance going on! =P It was really interesting to see how that performer managed to change from black to red, to half face, to black and his real face at an interval of 1 second the most. Amaaaaaaazzzzzzzzing.

This performance takes place everyday at 1pm and 8pm. Or was it 7pm? Hmmm.

Oh yah, this is the same performer who did the mask changing thingy

Hahaha, interesting right? He did it in a very stylo manner.

Now pictures of us!
