Pinic ♥

I just saw the pictures Yen took of us picnicking yesterday. Hahaha! *Pictures in this entry all credited to Yen!* Everytime we pass by Grey Gums Park on our way to/ back from school, I would say that we should have a picnic there someday. It went on for 9 or 10 weeks, and we finally had one. :) Strawberries dipped in condensed milk, scrambled eggs with crabmeat & crabmeat mayo with toast, cookies, and grape juice = yums! I was so full/ bloated that I didn't have dinner after the picnic.

I must say it's really nice to bask in the sun, enjoy the good company, cool breeze and the music from Yen's iPod, and just live in the moment.

Oh yeah, I didn't mention that I rolled down the slope. It's one of my 'in-the-moment', crazy things I do. Hahaha, Yen captured it on camera!

I saw kids doing that and they seem to have alot of fun, so why not? Shedding off all inhibitions, I ran up the slope, got myself into a comfortable position before rolling down. Hahaha! While it was fun, I paid the price for it. The prickly grass made me break out in spots/ rashes on my arms and legs. :( It was then I realised that the kids were wearing long-sleeved tops and pants. -.-"

But yeah, let's do another picnic again when Geri comes back! (:

I'm inspired to do this photo-a-day project I saw from a website. This is my first attempt. :) It was quite an interesting day today, I woke up to a slightly gloomy Brissy and I thought it was gonna rain but it turned out to be a dust storm instead. It's so weird looking up to see orange-coloured skies instead of the blue skies I've grown accustomed to. But, it's still a beautiful sight. Pictures ain't edited by the way.

View from the class room

Remember the other day where I burned the midnight oil to complete the group assignment? One of my groupmates bought strawberries and muffins to keep our energies up! This was the morning-afternoon bit. In the evening, another groupmate shared toffee candies. =D

my speck iPhone cover finally arrived! The postman actually came by on Monday but no one was home to sign for the package so I rescheduled for mr postman to come by today since sis will be home.

okay, that's all for today! :)

I had the longest day of my life yesterday. I was awake for close to 23 hours, working on the group project for contemporary fashion together with my groupmates through the night and we only left the computer lab at around 2ish in the morning..

And I guess like all projects, all the mad rush and anxiety to get the assignment done bonded us together. :) Right now, I'm just relieved that the project's submitted and I'd be satisfied if I get a P for it although a C+ would be a bonus... Results would be out on Wednesday *jitters* Now, the way to maintain a D+ average is to work my ass off for the last assignment.

YESSSSSS! Last assignment till after the study break!! \o/

I bought a bottle of wine to share with Geri and Kelda, as a form of reward for making it through 10 weeks of uni life. hahaha never too early to start drinking on Monday evenings ;)

Anyways, some snapshots from my iPhone.

On the way to Chermside. I love sunsets.

Awesome cupcake by Austin during FPS' editorial meeting

Yummy spread prepared by Sammy boy the night we went over for dinner.

More pictures to come later on!

Quick update

[add]Just picked up another assignment this week and another D- in the bag! =D The other assignment I got back was a P, well what can I say other than I totally deserved it. Now this gives me the motivation to do the group assignment to the best I can to maintain a D average :)[/add]

One more week till the much-needed study break.
1 assignment due next Monday and we haven't even started. A little panicky right now, but I hope everything will turn out for the best.

We went for the Riverfire last Saturday with the Unilodgers. :) The wait reminded me of the time when I was in Taipei, counting down to the fireworks display to usher in the new year. The fireworks were amazing, there were mini fireworks shooting out from buildings as well. It looked like the whole skyline was on fire and the whole affair lasted for close to half an hour. There were fighter jets doing their fancy display as well earlier on in the day. I'll upload pictures when I'm free. :)

Met V and went to Chermside on Sunday where we had dinner and caught Funny People. Chermside seems like quite an awesome place to walk around. Must check it out with Geri, sis and Yen someday, prolly during the study break or something since there's a direct bus we can take from the QUT busway. Oh yeah, Stone's Corner too. :)

Hmm I prepared dinner on Monday, the corn-potato-carrot soup, steamed fish and omelette with bacon bits. OMG, the steamed fish reminded me of what my mum/ granny used to cook in Singapore, just that I was a teeny weeny lil heavy-handed with the soy sauce. Okay, will make another attempt again hahaha =D Who says I can't cook, huh huh huh?!

Oooh, we went over to Sammy boy's place for dinner last night. Tumyum soup was awesome! So much better than what we've been doing all this while.. Man, this boy can cook! It was fun hanging out at his place, just chatting after dinner, watching Deuce Bigalow movie on TV. :)

Felicia invited us over for dinner tomorrow night.. Woohoo! \o/ Can't wait to see what she's gonna cook us... haha! And I heard Sumi's coming over on Friday night to prepare some awesome Korean dish =D

Man, I really need a massage. My left shoulder is all knotted up. :(

Life is good... I think. I've found the secret to getting a good night sleep --> sleeping early, before my sister goes to bed and removing the digital photo frame in my room helped. At least now I get 6 hours of sleep. =)

Sometimes.. I feel like I'm spending too much time around people and I don't have me-time anymore. But then again, when sis and Geri leaves for Singapore, I have all the me-time in the world and no one to talk to at home =\ Sigh.

Ekka!

Date: Wednesday, Aug 12
We were given an Ekka day holiday, so the whole troop of us (Unilodgers, KG girls & cousin) headed down to Ekka to check it out!

Met Jean at King George Sq at 9am or so, and she's early! *Makes me feel guilty* Then we waited for the Unilodgers to come over and they were late :(

Sis, Geri, Jean - waiting for the rest to come

Finally, they arrived and we boarded the bus!

Jean & I

It didn't take long for us to get there. We passed our tickets to the ushers and we were well on our way in. First stop: to the fair to get our showbags! Prior to that, we did some research online to suss out the best showbags. In the end, Jean and I both got the CLEO showbag, whereas Kelda got the Marie Claire showbag and bought her Insectosarus plushie :)

Sis & I

The others took quite a while in the fair, I got really bored walking around the place so we headed out.

Still early in the day, the human traffic was still pretty alright.

We went into this area where there was a dog show going in.

Owners and pets sit inside the fenced up area. It's so weird to see a human behind those fences. Wonder if the dogs were sedated, they were lazing around and looked sleepy instead of being all active a.

There's something about this place that makes colours really pop in pictures.

The guys were playing games at the stations and won several plushies! :) Some of them were really sweet and gave the prizes to the girls.

We walked past this bungee-jumping on the trampoline thingy and I decided that I MUST get on it. =D A lot of kids were in the queue too, I blended in with them! Soon it was my turn, I got strapped up and then I was bouncing up and down, doing back-tucks and all. Wanted to try doing a layout but failed =P. It was really tiring, and I had to be 'rescued' a couple of times because after a while, my feet can't touch the trampoline and I was stranded in mid-air. Hhaha!

After that, time to eat!

Jean, with fries and corndog

Me with my langos! =D

Kelda with her corn dog. The gang in the background.

*nomnomnom!*

Bread mascots with Joson. After snapping this picture, they made a Joson sandwich by squashing him together hahaha!

We went to check out the animals!

More pictures outside:

Love this picture.

Steve with Longan, Geri's plushie

We were thinking if we want to stay on for the fireworks, but it was only early afternoon and the fireworks only starts at night, around 8ish I think. So we decided to give the fireworks a miss and head back to the city. Thank goodness we did that! It started to drizzle after we left and I heard that it hailed as well. :)

Pictures on the bus!

Rainbow, the second one that we've seen so far in Brisbane, butt it's the first time for us to witness a double rainbow :)

Alrighty, that's all for today! ;)
