Turning 22

27/11/08
Celebration with the colleagues. They were hiding out in the meeting room and they weren't exactly ready when I burst in, hahhaa! They got the best-selling cake from Rive Gauche and it was really yummy. =D I made them sing me my birthday song so loud that the other end of the office can hear us and in 3 different languages hahaha!

Group picture!
My present was vouchers from Club21! Awesomenesss x)

28/11/08
I took the later half of the day off! We had fire-drill in the morning ahaha! So it's a pretty relaxed Friday for me. I went around giving colleagues slices of my birthday cake that my mum baked and received many many compliments from colleagues, telling me that the cake looked really professional and my mum should open her own bakery! =D

Then met Kelda after work, checked out the Benefit cosmetics sale which was pretty disappointing. We made our way back to Plaza Singapura for Lao Beijing high-tea buffet, stopping at several shops along the way and we ended up too late to get a number for the buffet. They only take reservations for tables of 6 pax and above, if not you gotta queue up starting at 2pm. So.. there weren't any tables left for us when we appeared at 2:25pm =~(

So... we decided on Manhattan Fish Market for lunch. =( Waited so long for mummy and the younger 2 sisters x( It was a good lunch, and I was sooo full by the end of it.

One of the several shots we took while waiting for mummy and sisters. We dropped by the office to keep the dumplings in the freezeer and the steamboat machine at my workstation and headed out for more shopping! We walked around quite a bit before we made our way over to Swensens for desserts! After that, they continued shopping whereas I headed back to office to meet Ariel and Reme before we head off to the chalet.

They came by 7:30pm, before that we went to Carrefour to get some sambal chilli + belachan sauce and my bottle of Choya! =D We made our way to the chalet and on our way there, Adrian was telling us to lower our expectations of the chalet.. Hahaha, nothing fazes me after that Redang trip! =P It wasn't that bad in my opinion, but the insects really bugged me. =\ Hahaha! After putting our stuff down, we headed out to Changi Village for dinner. x)

Me, Ariel and Ade

Ariel & Ade with their dinner!

They had nasi lemak from the stall with a never-ending queue, while I indulged in my ayam penyet. =D After that, we took a short walk at the park nearby before going back to the chalet. When we got back, it's mahjong time! =D

I'm a newbie at the mahjong and I'm thankful that Reme was a really good mentor and guided me through the game =D

*teehee!* our choice of poison!

Well.. I think we were all just hanging out in Ariel + Ade's room when Ariel burst into the room yelling that there's a rat/mouse on the window sill at the sink. Ade has a fear of rats/mice, so she was pretty hysterical. It was really quite a sight hahaha, then she got Adrian to help move her toothbrush away and to close the windows downstairs so they can't get in... Was really tired out and winded up sleeping at 3ish. Had a weird dream where I dreamt that Juleen was climbing up a tree trying to get to a colleague in order to switch flights or something (I know, I told you it's weird already) and I just followed them and climbed up the tree as well. While climbing, I noticed that there were those hugeass red ants. They proceeded to climb onto my feet and bit me really hard, and I jerked and woke up. When I went to the bathroom to freshen up, I noticed bites on my face and neck =~(

29/11/08
Woke up (from the dream) around 9ish, and after I freshened up, both Adrian and I were trying our darnest best to rouse Ariel from her sleep but to no avail. We talked, I tickled her soles, I nudged her, I wriggled towards her but nothing worked. So in the end Adrian and I headed out for dim sum breakfast at Changi Village.

It was already 11ish but the place was a ghost town still. Time seemed to have stopped for a while, and despite being 11 in the morning, it looked and felt like only 9ish in the morning...

We had egg tarts, char siew sou, chee cheong fun with prawn filling, har gao, siew mais, gluttinous rice, char siew baos, pan-fried dumplings, and some prawn rolls. =D Adrian thought that we might have over-ordered but I said that it would be okay because I love my dimsum! Approximately 45 mins after consuming my brunch, I felt... bloated. I guess I did it again, I overate. =x We also ta-baoed some back for Ariel.

Oh oh oh! I received a call from Yi-Long on his Aussie line! so happy lahhh hahaha, thanks for calling, ah long! =D

We headed back to the chalet, where we were just watching some re-run episode of mediacorp's drama. We were wondering what time will Ariel wake up and I said 1pm after some calculation and she woke up abt 15 - 20 mins before that =D

We were bored, so we ended up chatting at the dining room area where we set up our mahjong table. Here's a shot of Ariel knitting! =) After she finished what she set out to do, we had a mahjong revision session for me while waiting for Ade to get back before we head out for a short joy ride =D

Soo..... We went to Pasir Ris Farmway area to check out the animals! The whole place was selling pets, from dogs to aquarium fishes. We dropped by several pet farms and had our hearts stolen so many times...

We also dropped by Mutts N Kittens and got to know Yellow and this other active lil puppy scampering around, enjoying a game of ball-fetching. It's disheartening to know that people treat pets like a piece of furniture, discarding them whenever the occasion calls for it. =( Much as I would like to keep a pet, I can't do so now because it's a lifetime commitment and my whole lifestyle would hafta revolve around my pet. So people if you can't commit, don't get a pet!

After checking out a couple more farms (and many many mosquito bites =~[), we headed back home to start on the preparations for the steamboat!

Well... no pictures of me helping out but it doesn't mean I didn't lift a finger... Okay lah, I didn't help much cuz too many cooks spoil the broth. =P And I was feeling a lil under the weather with insufficient consumption of fluids and my palms felt like burning up too.

After we finished the work in the kitchen, we chilled in the living room area and watched TV...

Ariel made me eat a slice of watermelon to help cool myself down, didn't manage to finish it (i don't like watermelons!) and she helped me to finish it in the end.

While waiting for the rest to come, we played mahjong! But our game ended up getting interrupted with calls hahaha..

Oooh, there's our spread!

Once everyone turned up, it's time to get started! While waiting for the food to boil, we took pictures! =D

tancy and dong

Joyce and I

Josh & I. Gosh, I need sleep!

Hahaha, picture of Ariel! You know what to do to make me take thi$ down... =P

After dinner, we played mahjong + taboo. funfunfun! =D The losers were supposed to finish the food in the pot but the punishment wasn't carried out. After tancy, dong and joyce left, we continued to mahjong.... Before we knew it, it was 3ish in the morning and I couldn't stay awake any longer and went off to bed.

30/11/08
Next morning, woke up at around 8ish and prepared to pack up cuz we were leaving. We sat around, waiting for the person to come by our unit to check it out before we could leave. But it turns out that we were supposed to check out on 1 Dec instead... So we just left the place and dropped off the keys at the office instead. And yes... Thanks to Adrian for sending us home! =D

As said, I had a package waiting for me at home... I immediately recognised the return address and it was from Velda! =D

It's a journal and a necklace... Thanks alot babe! ♥

And Josh gave me a Holga + 135mm film adaptor + black & white film =D His mummy made me a bracelet too =D I can't tell you how happy I am hahaha!

Every year I make the same wish, I wish for happiness. People ask if my wish came true, well.. that's pretty subjective. But I would say, I'm in a happier place than I was in last year and that's good enough by my standards haha. This year.. I wish for peace; to be at peace with the decisions I've made, and the decisions I make and will make. :)

thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! i can't say enough thank yous! =)

thank you everyone of you for remembering my birthday, thank you to those who rang me up (gosh, I'm surprised at some who called up!), thank you to those who left me nice messages on my Wall on facebook, thank you to those who 'sang' me a birthday song via MSN, thank you to those who sent me SMSes... like I say, I can't say enough thank yous. I'm so blessed and fortunate to be remembered by so many friends... I'm kinda embarrassed to say that I have a couple of friends messaging me their greetings but I have no idea who they are =X But I really really appreciate the greetings nonetheless. :)

unlike last year where the greetings came exploding in my inbox at 12 midnight, the greetings streamed in slowly but continuously this year... this is all good :) hahaha, my sister just told me there's a package waiting for me at home and I can't wait to open it when I get home on Sunday!

P/S: JOSHUA WONG, I WANT MY 1,000 WORD LETTER. YOU STILL HAVE 998 MORE WORDS TO GO!

What I want for my 21st

Guide to getting Kelly a birthday present:
Rule #1 - Get something that she will use.
Rule #2 - If in doubt, ask, and she will answer.
P/s: This list will be constantly updated :D

1. Fisheye Submarine
I think it's not wise to get another lomocam until I master my present cams, so I think this is a wonderful add-on for my Fisheye2. :) *pssst* It's expensive at both Page One and Kino, so do check out Objectifs at Bugis :) BTW, I already have fotoclips and the fisheye cutter, so no need to get me those!

2. Fragrances

Lulu C in Paris - LuluCastagnette is on of the emblematic fashion French brand known for its humorous and adorable visual identity code: the teddy bear. The style is casual and glamorous with a health balance between girly and active look. That represents perfectly the Parisian lifestyle; the Parisian spirit.

Anna Sui - Anna Sui's Dolly Girl Eau de Toilette combines sweet grapefruit, melon, orange blossom and amber musk notes, but it's the adorable vintage judy-head bottle that has us saying "Ooh la la." The Dolly Girl line also includes a pretty-packaged body lotion, and both come in quilted lavender boxes that trace Dolly's romantic and retail adventures through the streets of Paris.

Basically, I like fragrances that are light, breezy and fruity, nothing heavy to bring on a headache :) I tested both before and I really like them hehe

3. Bath & Body Works products
- Black Raspberry Vanilla Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel
- Temptations Body Lotion Sassy Strawberry Mint
I can't say how much I love Bath&BodyWorks products!

4. Gemstones
I think a lot of people don't know but I'm interested in gemstones healing (like how i'm interested in numerology and tarot-card readings). Different stones have different properties, and I think it would be really nice to receive a nice bottle filled with a mixture of rose quartz, kunzite, aquamarine and citrine crystals :) I wouldn't mind it being in a form of an accessory like a bracelet or necklace too!

5. HairSpray DVD
*You can't stop the beat!* Enough said :)

6. Skincare products - Kose Mask White, Kiehl's Yerba Mate Tea Lotion, La Mer Moisturising Gel-Creme

6. Books
I like reading self-improvement books. *geeky smile*

7. Vouchers
Would really appreciate if I can get vouchers from Surrealist Love Scene (ooh, I can get my Irregular Choice shoes!), Skin Revival, Nike, Forever21, TopShop etc.

8. AOP "Any Other Present"
If you think you know what I like, you can try giving me stuff that's not on the list. If you need to know, I'm a Topshop 6-8, shoe size 36. Nice dresses, and tops are very welcome :)

People, keep your November 25th free for me! :)

I'm turning 21!
I think my uncle and aunt-in-law are more excited than me (I'm holding my party at their place) - every week when I go to their place for dinner, they will ask me if my friends drink red wine or prefer beer, and they bought wine glasses, balloons and some decorations already. hahaha My aunt-in-law will remind me to check out the birthday cake and food catering menus, and tell me not leave everything to the last minute. :)

Timeline:
- Confirm cake + choice of caterer by this week
- Invites to be distributed by next Monday

Happy Birthday dumbdumb!

Today's my sister's 18th birthday! :)
I actually wanted to surprise her with the Ben & Jerry's lipbalm I got from her last night, but she was out washing cars with her boyfriend. *rawr* So I did it this morning instead. I'm an early riser, so I went into the room to disturb her, asking if she wants ice-cream for breakfast, what flavour she likes, and then finally presenting to her the lipbalm! She broke out in a wide smile =D

Joy Journal:
- Receiving the items from my Bath & BodyWorks spree *awesomeness*
- Getting work done without a hitch

Waaay overdue

okokok, I've been really busy lately, with all that CNY and work stuff, etc. Gonna make a really quick update now k?

Date: 3rd Feb
Event: Jiaying's 21st birthday
Venue: Bishan Loft

Waiting at the bus-stop

Bern sent me to Bishan MRT and spent time with me walking around before I met up with the girls. Saw Haha crabs, damn cute! =D They are actually hermit crabs with colourful, decorated shells. Very interesting.. haha

Made our way to Bishan Loft and our birthday girl's busy like a bee, entertaining her guests. So we entertained ourselves.

We spotted doughnuts from Donut Factory!

Looking really tempting

Guangxian, Vel & I

Ditto

We helped ourselves to the food and after a while, we decided to head out. It was damn breezy outside! So we decided to snap some pictures and have some fun as well.

We also went to play foosball at one of the rooms! *LOL* We were shrieking and shouting away, so noisy can! I can't believe Vel and I lost, to think my practices during lunchtime at MTV didn't really help... Must be the foosball table, hahahah

Us again

HAHAHA, did you notice the ascending height behind?!
Front: Jiahui, moi, Vel
Back: Xiuhui, Guangxian, Rob, Chang, Jon

Classmates! Guangxian, RuiXiang, Vel, Xiuhui, me and Jiahui

Looking really yummy....

Our birthday girl :)

Class picture!

=) After that, headed to Bishan MRT station with Vel where Bern was waiting for me (:
Bern went to get my Carmex lipbalm replaced because the previous jar can't be opened! I knew it was a trick of that 'gay' salesperson to get another glimpse of Bern.. LOL x)

Velda's McDs party!

This is waaaaay overdue man

15th Dec '06
Velda's big day!

Wrapped her present while at work.. *shhhhh*
Rushed down to McDee's at RidOut Garden in Queensway. Guangxian and Xiuhui were already there :) The birthday girl was all around, entertaining her guests. So we just kept ourselves occupied.

Guangxian, Xiuhui and I

A picture of us

First, food time! The party hostess took our orders and made us wear our names on tags that also stated our orders. It wasn't too long before the food came... After that... GAME TIME!!
First game: the cloth-pegs game. The team with the most number of pegs on the person who's seated down wins. Rule --> Only one person can peg the fella sitting down at any one time. (but of course towards the end, everybody chionged.)

Getting in line

Basketful of colourful pegs

Getting pegged

Next game: Musical Chairs, simple rule that all of us know, when the music stops and you don't have a seat, you're out.

After the two games, it was cake-cutting time! The lady wheeled out Velda's cake, we sang happy birthday song and then it was photo-taking time with various groups of people. :)

Secondary school friends

Had a fun time playing games that we used to play when we're kids... *smile*
