K is for Kelly

I used to think that going to church for services was enough because each week I learnt more and more about the Word. But I realised taking the first step to start serving God allows me to learn even more.

It is an incredibly humbling experience to be serving God. To me, serving God is about allowing Him to use my abilities in making the smoothest path for people to come and experience a God encounter. Being part of the host team, I am involved in getting the place ready before the doors open, greeting and welcoming people into the auditorium and picking up after the service ends. It may not be much, but I do feel that a church is not just a building but we are THE church, moving and reaching out to people. On the weeks that I’m not serving, it feels so nice to be welcomed by smiling faces and it makes me feel like I’m at home and part of a family. :)

Being on the creative worship team has been awesome as well and each week we learn new songs that would be sung during the services that week. I feel that worship puts us in our places with God - To be reminded that He is God and for us to be obedient.
