I've just tided over the worst 48 - 72 hours of my life, surviving on just 7-8 hours of sleep in total over the past few days. While I never thought that uni was a walk in the park, I never expected it to be this crazy either.
So I just submitted three assignments on Monday, and I never felt this exhausted physically and mentally. I was really running low on energy, my mind's in a haze at times, abrasions from usage of crutches was getting to me as well.
Imagine this:
- Last week I spent Monday and Tuesday working on a group assignment that's due on Wednesday
- Then I got started on my artwork on Wednesday, spending most of my Thursday and Friday completing it in the day and I spent the night working on my ragtrade assignment (consisting of lookbook, wholesale book, business documents, etc) in the lab and left about 2ish? everything's a haze now.
- Woke up at 7 on Saturday but I couldn't leave the house because it was raining and I'm still on crutches so I don't have a spare hand for an umbrella. So I wounded up getting into the lab at 8ish, finished finalising the spreads by 12pm and headed down to Officeworks in the city where I spent close to 2 hours fixing and making sure it prints out right. Then headed back to uni and work on my assignment the whole night through to 5ish on Sunday morning.
- Got home, took a quick shower, slept in an uncomfortable position so I would wake up after 2-3 hours of sleep (which in the end I slept for like 1.5 hours), and had breakfast before heading back to the lab to continue till about 1pm, napped for 30 mins before having lunch and heading down to the gym with my mum to see what my team mates were up to. Thank goodness one of my cheermates sent me and mummy home so we got home in less than 15 minutes when usually I take about 45 mins to get home. Had dinner and napped till 9pm after dinner at 7ish before spending 12 hours in the lab straight working on my assignment.
And that, was just the part where it's all about getting assignments done. I have the worst of luck today:
- Wanted to print my stuff at Z block, printer stuffed up on me not once, not twice, but a grand total of three times.
- Got frustrated so I went home to freshen up before heading down to the other lab at D block to print.
- Even had to go up to the printing services at the library because one of my documents just couldn't be printed.
- Rushed down to submit my assignment, just to realise that it's incomplete because I didn't put in the visual target market profile. -.-"
- Went back home to pick it up, stoned for 30 minutes, wrapped up my artwork before dropping it off at the workshop and waited for the bus to take me into the city to get my mounting board.
- Walked to Eckersley, only to realise that it was closed for stock-taking today. I was so close to breaking down and crying right there and then
- Sniffled and hobbled back to the bus-stop and then bought crappy white cardboard to cut up, using scissors from the printing services cuz it was too thick for us to use the slicer.
- Wanted to ask the printing services to print my work for me but the dude told me to use the self-service printers cuz it's cheaper (but also more inconvenient)
- Saw that they have foamboards for sale on their list of services and I thought I could buy them instead of cutting up cardboard but it turns out that they only have it in the other campus library. -.-"
And that concludes my past week. I'm so thankful that Stephy was such a great help to me today, she helped me take a look at my illustrations, look for mounting boards and envelope in the bookshop and mount my images on the boards. I couldn't have done it without her. I was so tired and down but she tried to keep my spirits up throughout the whole period. Gonna be so sad when Felicia and she graduate this sem :(
But anyways, I immediately crashed when I got home and woke up cuz I was feeling really cold. Turns out that I was running a temperature from being overworked and so I popped Panadol, got a massage from both my sister and mum, had porridge for dinner before taking another nap. And right now, I'm feeling tons better after a bubble bath as well :) Gonna spend the rest of tomorrow at home instead of going to MovieWorld with my sister and mum because I have to prepare for a presentation and some documents due on Wednesday. Oh God, I better get to bed now.
