If you know me, I'm a sucker for anything vanilla. I enjoy my vanilla ice-cream, I love diffuser reeds soaked in vanilla bean flavoured oils in the bedroom, my bedtime body lotion is lavender vanilla and my hand cream from Bath and Body Works is Warm Vanilla Sugar, no surprise. I used to lean towards fruity and citrusy scents but vanilla triggers memories of the happy times I spent with the kettle because I always catch a whiff of it whenever he gives me a hug. It's comforting and it makes me feel safe like a child in a warm embrace. Somehow I think most of my memories of relationships are olfactory-linked. Is it the same for you guys?

But anyways, back to the vanilla point. I've been using Vanilla in the Mist, a new soap released in 2010 from Lush for slightly more than a month now and I absolutely love it. When I first started using it, the smell really hit me in the face as the scent was a lot stronger than those vanilla-scented products I've been using and I thought I didn't like it as much. But as time passed, it just grew on me and I look forward to each time I stepped into the shower. It doesn't smell artificial or chemical and each shower time feels like a indulgent treat. Another plus point of this product is that it's totally vegan and I guess it's one step onward from being a vegetarian though I still struggle with giving up cheese and eggs? The only thing I didn't like about the product is that it melts really fast when water comes into contact and there is a faint yellow colouring happening when you lather up although it doesn't stain my skin and it washes off clean on the shower puff I'm using.

I may repurchase this after I've tried the Honey I Washed the Kids soap, but if you're a fan of vanilla like me, try and grab a hold of this bar of soap and you may find yourself reaching for it over your bottled shower gels and whatnot. :)
