So we went to Melbourne during our one week study break. :) The flight was in the wee hours of the morning, so the guys came over to our place for pizza, and games and we stayed awake throughout the night. Then called for a cab and we were whizzing down to the airport with loud music blasting throughout the vehicle.

Staying up throughout the night sure makes us all hungry. Since we were flying via a budget carrier, it's wise to grab a quick bite before boarding. Blueberry bagel with cream cheese. But I can't taste the blueberry in my bagel. Refund please, kthx!

Flew with Virgin, the seats were a tad uncomfortable but thank goodness it was only a 2 hours+ ride. Touched down and went over to pick up our cars!

My sister has a tendency to tilt her head, maybe that's why she can't balance herself.

Keys in my hands!

Steve wanted to let me drive to assess my driving abilities, but I had some problems starting the car so he took over and drove into the city. Went to the service apartments that we were going to stay at for the next few days and deposited our bags with them before we headed off to Queen Victoria Market. I drove! =D It's quite fun (and a lil scary) driving in a different city.

While Steve went off to meet his uncle for dim sum, the rest of us satisfied our tummies at the food court of QVM. Then we walked around the market... and bought doughnuts!

Little fried pieces of sin with yummy jam centres

Plan of the day: To go for the go-kart and view the Penguin Parade. We picked up Steve's friend, Marilyn and off we go! We had a near death experience on the drive there. Car 1 went the wrong way and drove onto a one-way traffic lane of the opposite direction and we followed! But all's well, we are all still alive and I thank God for that.

So anyways, we wanted to go-kart at the race tracks that F1 peeps supposedly drove/practised in when they were in Melbourne. But it was all packed, so we couldn't sign up for it. In the end, we went to check out this chocolate factory we passed by because the sign said free samples were available.

Liars. I didn't see any when we got into the place. x( But I bought chocolate to try.

10 reaons why we should all eat chocolate. I think chocolates should be made a major food group!

After that, we decided to have dinner before setting off to Phillip Island. Settled at a Fish & Chips place called Pelican View (but I see more seagulls than anything).

Being vegetarian can be a real pain in the butt, but I'm really thankful that there's vegetarian alternatives at the cafe.

Okay, onward to Phillip Island!

It's my first time doing such nature/animal-watching, waiting in the cold with the chilly winds blowing in our faces. Despite being early to catch the penguins returning to the shore, we didn't get seats so we hafta stand throughout our whole penguin-watching session. It wasn't as spectacular as I expected. Geri had seen the penguin parade before and she described seeing hundreds of penguins coming onto shore, but by the time we left, I can count the number of penguins I saw with my two hands and feet. :( But oh wells, those penguins must be clocking OT.... that's an experience, that's real life right?

Ooh, the first penguin came in several minutes earlier than expected!

After that, we just drove back to the city and had an early night. It was so funny, the four girls squeezing onto one queen-sized bed and I just thought we were like a litter of puppies sleeping together hahaha
