Coming back to Brisbane after spending the week in Melbourne feels like, coming back to a big sleepy town from a bustling city. =X No offense, I love Brisvegas all the same, but my heart now feels torn between calling Melbourne and Brisbane home. And of course I haven't forgotten where my roots at; Singapore.
Having been to Melbourne before makes a world of difference to my second trip. Having an iPhone in hand makes it even better, especially with its Maps app. I love how I know where we were headed even if I wasn't the person who was leading the troop, it's like I've somehow gotten the map of Melbourne imprinted in the back of my head. I love the cafes in the alleyways, I love streets of boutiques, I love how I never know what surprising finds I'm gonna chance upon in an op-shop. It reminds me of Singapore, but with a touch of Paris.
The highlights of this trip could be simply listed down:
- Being given the opportunity to drive (in the city, and along the Great Ocean Road way from the 12 Apostles to an eatery for dinner) No dad, we didn't drive there. We took a flight instead
- Penguin-watching on Philip Island
- Meeting up with Chris who wanted to show me this very nice rooftop bar but it was closed so we ended up having a drink at the Crowne Casino pub instead
- Meeting up with Emily, and I totally enjoyed my time having a coffee and checking out galleries together
- Spending heaps of time bonding with family (Kelda and Jean) and friends
- Window-shopping/ shopping (!)
- Hopping onto a tram and not paying for it =X
- Awesome dimsum and pastries!
Will post pictures tomo morning or something when I'm in the library, but for now it's time to turn in
