My 2009

If I had to use a word to sum up my 2009, it would be either be 'change' or 'growth'.
So many things took place this year. I had so many learning opportunities, not just academically but physically, spiritually and mentally as well.

My highlights for this year will include:
- the one month stint as guest editor at CLEO earlier in the year (think CLEO Bachelors *salivate* and awesome swag)
- getting my driver's license
- learning salsa (& loving it!)
- completing my first 10km run within my targeted timing
- studying and living overseas with my sister and an awesome housemate Geri
- staying in school overnight with sister and Geri to do assignments and collate photos on Photobooth nightly at 1:17am
- borrowing DVDs from school and Brisbane's libraries (teehee, no need to visit video-ezy!)
- putting aluminum foil into the microwave -.-" (my sister told me to add this one in)
- making new awesome friends =D
- having those awesome friends coming over to our place to cook for us =DD
- going to Pancake Manor with awesome friends on a regular basis *looks at tummy*
- having $2 sushi rolls =D
- exploring Brissy, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast et al with friends
- attending service at an awesome church (can't wait for the CD to be out!!)
- getting baptised
- having (very) regular cheese&wine sessions with the said awesome friends
- learning to surf
- getting driven around in a convertible! LOL
- getting awesome grades
- my (current) internship at CLEO

It has been a really great year. I can really feel God's presence in my life. When I had my emotional breakdown, Karenn was around to talk me through it and I really thank her for that. :) He hears my heart's desires and answers my prayers. Sometimes I want things that would only give me temporal joy, He grants them nonetheless and allows me to make my own mistakes so I can learn from them, just like how a father would. He has shown me it's a blessing to be the one giving/helping instead of being on the receiving end all the time, and it feels really good to be able to help others! I've learnt to trust in Him totally, because I serve an awesome God and because with Him, everything is possible :)

So... It's been a really awesome 2009 and I'm sure that 2010 will be a helluva great year as well. My only resolution in 2010 is to learn to take things slow and just enjoy my life instead of zipping around, trying to tick boxes off my checklist. I'm gonna stick to my vegetarian diet (yeah let's see how long it will last this time around), do things I like, I'm gonna overcome my aquaphobia and learn to swim, continue surfing (anyone wanna contribute to get-kelly-a-surfboard fund?), and pick up guitar :)

Have you counted just how many times I've used the word 'awesome'? =D
