19 Nov is great because...

I can give you 3 reasons why 19 November is a fab date:
  • New Moon is out in cinemas!
  • Gossip Girl the TV series collection by Kai Aiyub hits Big W!!
  • Frock Paper Scissors Launch!!!
I spent my morning at Southbank, dropping off magazines at various cafes and boutiques. I was sweating buckets by the time I got to Southbank as I crossed the Goodwill Bridge from school. The sun was playing peek-a-boo behind clouds and when there isn't a breeze, you can really feel the sun beating down on you.

Then later at 4pm, it's time to get the glasshouse ready for the launch. Magazines were arranged, Frock website displayed on the monitors, the behind-the-scenes video was looped continuously and nibbles were placed on the table and wine was poured into cups.

The turn-out was great! Maddi, Rebecca and Sara delivered their speeches, and I can't help but feel mighty proud of what we've achieved :) All the nights spent Googling for fashion trivia to come up with the Fashion IQ quiz, coming into the workroom to check details of the shops in various suburbs till my eyes were crossed, setting up and managing the Facebook and Twitter acounts, was totally worth it. The magazine looks professional, the website looks sleek, the whole outcome is just so amazing and I think we've just set a benchmark that the next editorial team hafta try really, really, really hard to surpass. ;)

Kay slipped some complimentary tickets to the BFA fashion parade and I was treated to a visual feast. Many moments during the show I feel like getting a sketchbook and start drawing. While a couple of pieces from collections of various designers caught my eye, the collections of Erica Stagg, Marnie Perkins and Jeremy Gillis stood out by far. I love almost every single garment that was shown in their collections. Jeremy's menswear collection draws inspiration from dandyism and this is exactly what I picture a modern-day dandy would love to wear. While I am repulsed when I see girls wearing tights as pants, I was surprisingly okay with guys in tights... *chuckles* I really like Marnie Perkins and Erica Stagg's womenswear and they are clothes that I would wear myself. It just felt so amazing to be in the room, being a witness of the potential of our designers and I think they would really go far in their field. :)

The night went really well. But it would be even more awesome if Kelda and Geri were around to share my joy... oh wells. :)

anyways, check out my baby at http://www.frockpaperscissors.com!
