Overdue entry

You can either be a daddy's girl or a mama's girl, but you can't be both. So you cling on to the one you think you'll lose.

I'm a mummy's girl without a doubt. Throughout the years, she had shown her love for me via many ways. When I was in primary school, she made me miss my school bus and I had to walk to school because I waited till the last minute to finish my homework. I was crying on my way to school feeling miserable for myself, and I saw her following me from a distance, darting from pillar to pillar underneath the void decks to make sure I'm safe from the corner of my eye. She came up to me only after I walked quite a while, drying my tears and telling me that it's important for me to get my homework done before going to school. I guess I learnt my lesson the hard way.

When she was overseas for her attachment/ exchange programme in UK, she always sent back postcards to us and when my birthday was approaching, she sent back a Winnie the Pooh bear (my favourite cartoon character back then) necklace and a birthday card to me. In secondary school, she bought everything I needed and wanted. She takes care of me when I'm sick. She let me make my own decisions regarding my choice of studies, and always supported me in whatever I want to do (despite nagging me about my choice of CCA in poly due to injuries). She used to be an authoritarian figure in my life, but now she's slowly becoming my friend, someone whom I can poke fun and irritate and I know she'll love me all the same. What touched me was that she kept this particular Happy Mother's Day card I made for her when I was back in kindergarten!

I love spending Saturdays with her where we'll go different places for lunch and walk around a bit before going to my granny's place. I love creeping into her room and sleeping beside her, it makes me feel like a little child all over again. I love it when she whips up yummy food :)

She's the bank overflowing with love, someone whom I can deposit my rants and worries. She's my mother and I love her :)
