the house wasn't exactly spick and span, the new year decorations were minimal, the amount of new year goodies paled in comparison to last year's and the annual tv chinese new year countdown show seemed like a repeat telecast, year after year.
and we didnt have steamboat for reunion dinner this year.
crap.
just as i felt that the festive spirit of chinese new year was slowly surely slipping away, my uncle popped over my place and announced that we ought to go catch a midnight movie cuz it's so boring to stay home as there's nothing decent to watch on tv. that thought got us sisters all psyched up and we were on our way to jurong point in less than 15 mintues!
i think it's become a tradition for us to head out, spend some time together during this period. last year we went to catch the last samurai with my cousins, the year before, we went midnight bowling. :) wonderful memories. it's times like these that time seemed to have slowed down and you get to spend time with people you've not seen for a long time because of a million and one reasons. time to celebrate family ties, not just about collecting angbaos.
so we caught "i not stupid too".. from jack neo, as usual a tear-jerker that tugs at our heartstrings.. this time the movie revolves around parents-children communication. oh and more.. about encouragement and praises.. can you remember the last time you praised someone or when was the last time someone praised you? i think the movie wasn't too bad because i was sandwiched between my two sisters who were crying like there's no tomorrow. haha x) what a comical sight!
