Words

Never underestimate the power of words.
Just look at the creation story- God spoke and out of His sheer words, came the universe.

What's in our hearts comes tumbling out of our mouths, and what escapes through our lips manifests in our lives. That's why it's imperative we should always speak of positivity, of love, of hope, of good things to come.

So why am I always upbeat? It's not because I haven't faced tough times or difficult situations.It's not because I've denied myself from feeling sad. It's not because I'm delusional, living in my little perfect bubble.

It's because the joy of the Lord is my strength. It's because when I read my bible, the verse I've meditated on comes alive and becomes living truth for me. It's such an amazing feeling whenever that happens. :) It's because I had woken up from a dream one morning, all smiley and expectant of the things that will come to pass.

It's because I've decided on fixing my eyes upon Him instead of looking down at my situation. In the midst of my difficulties I draw my strength from Him to get through it because I can't but He can. This joy can't be taken away from me because it's how I enjoy God's presence and it's because I know all good things come from Him.

Most importantly when I start feeling emo for no rhyme or reason, this thought "Woman, why are you weeping?" comes into my head and it makes me stop wallowing in my misery. It's then I realise God's got everything covered so there's no reason for me to fear or cry about.

So hey, cut me some slack if I'm too cheery for you. :) As a creator through words, I choose to speak in faith of good things to come because I know my identity in Christ, God's DNA courses through my veins and I've chosen to give life through words.
