Had loadsa time to kill after my facial appointment before meeting my friends at Settlers and I was deciding between going to VivoCity or Central. I thought I had a direct bus to Vivo but upon arriving at the stop, I realised that there isn't and ended up heading to Central instead.
Over the course of one week, my skin had the worst breakout ever -insert major sad face here- so I thought it would be good to eat healthy and just find a place to hole up with my book for the next 3-4 hours. I was thinking of Subway and Starbucks initially but suddenly I recalled there's this vegan cafe called Real Food in Central and that's it! It's sucha small world, I bumped into Apple (a girl whom I knew since LiveJournal days) who's working there! :D
The place is a combination of a cafe, a grocer and a bookstore. Apple was so nice, she let me sample some vegan ice-cream which were really yummy. 2 scoops for just $3.80. My fave flavours for the day were banana & oats and strawberry, but green tea and hazelnut flavours were pretty rad too :)
I had a mushroom aglio olio pasta, which wasn't too bad. It just wasn't as piping hot as I hoped it would be. Then Apple let me have a bite of the mudcake/mudpie, and it was awesome! Who knew you can make tasty base with brown rice?! She said it's a pretty big piece so it's most ideal to share it.
I love the place, the ambience, the music.... and it's sucha cozy place. :) I just felt very inspired being in the surroundings, I wish I had writing/ drawing material with me! I can see myself coming back here pretty often, definitely coming back :)
