Park Street

Park Street, a street in Sydney, and the street where ACP Magazines' head office is located on.



What's Park Street about? It's a ten-episode documentary that takes viewers into the world of women's magazines at ACP Magazines (from the comforts of their couches) and provides a sneak peek into the day-to-day running of the magazine titles.

Back in 2009 I wanted to apply for work experience but didn't do so in the end as it was only a week long. I needed an internship that allows me to clock 100 hours which is equivalent to 2 weeks. I think I read on someone's blog who interned with them mentioned that there are two girls doing work experience each week, and that would mean..... 104 girls in a year. Wow.

So it debuted last night on Foxtel's Arena Channel. (How did I know? Well, anyone would if it's on their company's intranet) I read that it didn't receive high ratings but if I were still in Brisbane or any part of Australia for that matter, you can be sure I'll be in front of my telly. I know how this industry works since I was an editorial intern and currently a freelance writer for one of the magazines. But I want to see just how different it is, be it in terms of culture or environment, from where I'm working at.
