0730h: Woke up. Made myself a smoothie, tried to finish packing my bag and make sure I've gotten everything in. I found myself trying to recall if I ever eat before competitions. Hmmm, I think not.
0800h: Turned on my laptop, playing music by Hillsong (non-stop) to calm my nerves. Worship music always has that effect on me, thank God. Best way to deal with my bundle of nervous energy since I can't risk injuring myself further with running.
0930h: Started laying out the set of clothes I'd be wearing to the competition ground. Why can't we just go in uniform? :(
1000h: Hit the showers! When I came out, I took my time with my skincare routine before I started to put on make up. Oh gosh, I find myself wishing I had a 'nanny' to worry about hair and make-up. We've been so pampered in Magnum, with people like our seniors to help out with the application of make-up and curling of our hair. Dang, miss those days.
1200h: Just enlisted the help of my sister to curl my hair. Not bad for a first attempt. Now strapping up my ankle. Ankle, please hold up. I promise we'll get a good rest for 2 weeks. No exertion at all.
1230h: Texted Yurika to check if Sandra has contacted her regarding the carpooling. Kinda worried because Sandra didn't text back to confirm she has received my address details the night before. Made myself a cuppa almond milk while waiting.
1250h: Yurika says that she's on the car with Sandra. YES! She's on her way over now.
1300h: YESSS! Now on our way to Logan Indoor Sports Centre. Oh no we got lost several times because we missed the highway, but thank God we managed to get there by 2pm.
1400h: Just stepped into the sports centre. Lotsa cheerleaders, located Shannon and got our competitor's wristbands and headed to where the rest of the Q Cheerios were at. Found my group mates and we went down to the training mats to run through our stunts and made some changes. Went back up and watch the competition. There were two competition grounds, one dance floor and the other a cheer competition mat. Some of our team mates competed in the Pom category earlier in the day and we came in 3rd for that. Sitting around and waiting is totally not my thing. Kinda worrying that we haven't run through the entire routine yet.
1520h: Okay, I see alot of of my team mates in uniform. Better get changed and get ready.
1630h: Time to watch the our fellow cheer mates in Sapphires shine in the Level 2 competition. After watching them perform, we immediately headed backstage to have a run through of our routine, just minutes before our turn to compete. Oh gosh, I'm a headless chicken without the music. I ran to the wrong positions all the time because I've grown to associate counts with doing stunts. -.-"
1655h: As each team before us exited from the competition ground, we clapped and cheered for them but they looked... tired and maybe a little dejected? Hmmmm. Now, it's showtime! Everything's going smoothly and fine, everyone was so relieved when our pyramid went up! Truth be told, we haven't exactly done this routine from start to finish a 100 times (heck, not even 50 times) and we don't have a 100% success rate. After that, we just sat around, watched the dance competitions and the individual categories. Darn proud of my fellow team mates who competed in those categories :) Oh yeah, ripped off all the strappings on my ankle because they were cutting my blood circulation. Oh I can feel my feet again!
Just realised that I haven't taken any pictures with my team mates because I was too caught up with worrying. Some snaps!

Time for prize presentation. Cheerleaders were gathered on the competition mats. Our Sapphires team came in 1st and our Diamonds team (which I'm part of) came in 1st as well! For some reason.... victory doesn't taste as sweet as I've remembered. Hmmm.....

After that, hitched a ride with Hayley, Sonny and another girl from the Pom squad (shit, can't remember her name =X) and we went to Macca's to grab a bite. It's like what we usually see in TV shows or something, cheerleaders having a meal together at a diner or something but in our case, Macca's. Hahhaa, we have curious eyes on us from time to time but I guess that's because it's an unusual sight for them. On our ride back, we were blasting music and singing along, such fun! :)
