Jess (the girl with awesome pink hair in the poster) came to pick me up early in the morning along with Cynthia and Stefani en route to Samford where the car wash was held. I was just checking on Translink to see how I can get there by myself and it was impossible to get there without a car. So thank God Jess could give me a ride! :)
Got there at around 8ish, slapped on sunscreen, put on our Q Cheer tee and started working on the cars. Some held posters to grab the attention of drivers on the road and directed them into the carpark, some manned the sausage sizzle and bake sale while majority of us were hosing, scrubbing and drying the cars. It was really hard work, some cars are really shit dirty, with hardened mud or I-don't-wanna-know-what on their wheels, bird poo and what not. Those people with their four-wheel drive really got the most bang for their buck, should have charged them more!
I swore I applied sunblock hourly or so during my 4-5 hour stint and I didn't know I turned so so red until Stefani pointed it out to me and I went to rest in the shade! Man, the sun was really brutal. By the time I left, I'm sure I had washed at least 10-20 cars because my hands were all dry and rough to the touch from all the contact with the soapy water hahaha! The chocolate chip cookies were awesome and the cupcake was delicious and crazy cheap! Of course I supported by buying some of these goodies to consume during my short hide from the sun hahaha
After today, I hope we are a step closer to hitting our target for fund-raising of our Melbourne competition! :)
