We all met in the restaurant for breakfast. As usual, we brought Kate Rose and Marie out. Here's my uncle and auntie helping to comb Kate's hair =D

Yummy breakfast! :) I enjoyed breakfast for the 2 days that we were at this restaurant. The only bad thing is that there's a lot of mosquitoes flying around as this hotel was located just next to a paddy field and you know, mosquitoes breed in stagnant water...
After breakfast, we went to check out the beach.

Jeremy kor helped us take this shot hahaha! He has really honed his skill at taking jumping shots, all thanks to his Taiwanese friends =D

Marie at the beach :)

Kelila and I
Shortly, we made our way over to DiJia crystal factory to check out the crystals, one of HaiNan's exports.

Workers at work, polishing and refining the crystals...
Then we were brought around to look at the different coloured crystals and the guide explained the symbolism of each coloured crystals. For example, yellow crystals can be used to summon wealth, pink crystals for good relationships, etc.

We were also taught how to differentiate real crystals from the fake, before we went around counters looking at the different kinds of accessories and ornaments made out of crystals. This place is damn crowded, just like a wet market!! People (when I say people, I mean MLs) were jostling to take a look at the accessories. And it's hard to pay for your purchases because the people here don't queue! They just shout at the cashier and wave their payment and receipt in
their hands and the cashier will attend to the person. It's just too chaotic. I managed to get myself a bracelet made of white and purple crystals, thanks to mummy! :) As my bracelet was too long, we went over to this lady who does customisation to get it shortened. I made a necklace for Kate Rose and another for Kelila with the excess beads. :)

I know the necklace is too long for her, but hey it's the thought that counts ok?
After this, we went over to the Sanya NanShan Cultural Tourism Zone. Countless visitors flock to the area, drawn by the beauty of Nanshan Mountain (South Mountain), making it a principal eco-tourism zone. Visitors also are attracted to the area because of the profound Buddhist influence on the surrounding culture. The zone features three theme parks: Buddhism Culture Park, Blessing and Longevity Park, and Hainan Custom Culture Park.
Momo kindly reminded us to put sunblock as we'll be exposed to the sun for a very good part of the day and we'll run the risk of getting a sunburn if we don't have any sun protection. So everyone started slathering sunblock on the bus without seeing if they spread it evenly...

This is an example. Hahahahaha!

Here we are! Momo went to get tickets for us :)

This place is humongous! By the end of the day, I think we didn't even cover 50% of the place...

A group shot with everyone on this awesome trip!

This park was awarded 5As!
Taking pictures while waiting for the adults to get out of the toilets...

We had to 'make a donation' (a nicer phrase for pay money in this... religious zone) to take a picture and whack the gong 3 times each.

My turn at whacking the gong as loud as possible!

I heard people commenting that I had very cute and pretty dolls *beams* Thanks to whoever said it and have a nice day!

We are having a vegetarian lunch... =X
The place was crowded, as usual. People were all rushing in for the food. *Tsktsk* The food isn't even nice in the first place!

I think her face says it all, right?

My plate, before.

My plate, after.
I think it says alot about their vegetarian food right? Perhaps it's because I didn't take the veggies as my dad said that the vegetables were cooked nicely, and better than army food (in his days)!
After we're done with lunch, we had to gather outside and wait for the tram..
There's a small walkway of pictures of grinning (some toothless) centurians! Secret to longevity (according to one of the old men whose portrait was featured): Smoke and drink everyday! -______-"

If you ask me, I wouldn't want to be a centurian. Cost of living is too high in Singapore! And really quality of life is more important than the number of years lived, so if I were to go at 70 - 80 I wouldn't really mind. :)
Next we checked out some hugeass dragon ink stone.

Next we check out one of the key features of this place - the three-sided statue of 108m-tall Guanyin Buddha in the sea! After I got Kelda to take a picture of me and the statue, everyone wants a pic too!

Each different side represents different things, I can only remember one of the side represents knowledge. =P

It's a damn long day today with lotsa walking done! Next we popped by Tianya-Haijiao stones and checked out the other famed stones. Tianya Haijiao is a vast beach facing the South China Sea. There are numerous huge rocks on the beach. Sitting on one of the rocks, you will see a boundless sea meeting the blue sky in the faraway horizontal. It seems that you are at the ends of the earth.

We are too lazy to walk, so we took a tram in! =D But we walked out all the way of course...

Even Marie is showing signs of fatigue

Here we are! :)
On the beach is a giant rock, on which carved with two Chinese characters "Tianya" (the Edge of Sky). Somewhere behind it is a reposing rock, on which was carved with "Haijiao" (the Rim of Sea).

All of us taking a break, munching on snacks that the mummies packed =D

Kate has been to the ends of the world (天涯海角)!

Marie's taking a break and enjoying the cool breeze :)
While all of us were taking a break, my uncle went to the Muslim ladies selling pearl and crystal accessories and shopped up a storm! And our mummies were infected with his shopping bug and went over too. Apparently the ladies were all selling their items like 5 pieces of pearl necklaces for 100 or 200 RMB then this lady spoilt the market by throwing in an extra necklace. One of the ladies got really pissed off and they were squabbling while selling their stuff. =\ Well, I don't really care as we are the consumers and we're benefitting!

My new pearl necklace =D

We are on our way out already! Like yeah!
After walking for the whole day, it's time to show our feet some lovin'! Momo brought us to this foot reflexology and TCM place before we went off for dinner.

Foot soak!

Looking bored out by the fella's presentation..

Me and the reflexologist!
At first Kelda and I weren't assigned any reflexogist because we looked like we're under 18! After we told the person-in-charge and then they came in to attend to us. So yah.. Chatted with them while they kneaded our feet. As he massaged my feet, he told me that I must eat lesser junk food and eat more vegetables. Yes, I know that already.. And talked about Singapore and Hainan.. yadayada.. And I realised how lucky we are to be able to travel with so much ease whereas in China you gotta pay so much to get your travel documents done even before you travel. And I received nice compliments, thanks! =D

Before we had our sumptous seafood dinner, we popped by the venue that Miss Universe was held in China. This shot turned out fine for Kate, but when it came to Marie's turn.. It just wasn't the same lighting condition anymore.. What's up with that man, intelligent auto!?
This must be the awesomest dinner I had so far!

I love this coconut soup, I love it so much that I had 2 servings of it! =D
Sorry, didn't take much pictures because I was happily eating away!

Love this egg thingy served in sea urchin, yummy!
We also celebrated my auntie's birthday and she was so touched that she teared! =) After dinner, we were brought back to the hotel. The adults went to the nearby hair salon to enjoy their wash/cut with massage while the kids came over to my room! Hahaha, everyone showered at our place and then we were playing with Kate and Marie and I did masks for them! =p It was fun hehe
i'm really tickled by my cousin's remark on his blog: "My parents and my relatives themselves went off to a beauty parlor for a haircut , instead all of them got china man and china women hair cuts instead lol." Hahaha, it wasn't THAT bad lah!!

We are unhappy ogres!
Alrighty, next day next entry next time!
