Day 1 in Taipei

Trying to blog about my trip to Taipei and HK is pretty duanting, with the amount of pictures to put up, I think I'll start with the first day =D

The night before departure
Finished work as early as possible, popped by Far East Plaza to settle my cravings for Chippy's and got myself a travel-sized kit from Vodaskin

Chose 3 different products, namely the eye cream, facial cleanser and face serum for $3.95. But you only get that for that price when you either buy a product (normal-sized) or go for a facial treatment. It's packaged nicely like a deli takeaway box, and there's a lollipop inside as well =D

Then it's time to go home and start packing. Bern waited for the bus with me at Clementi Interchange before he headed home to take a quick shower and lug his luggage to my place. He stayed over as we've got an early plane to catch the next morning!

My mum woke up early to prepare pancakes and sandwiches for us :D Then we're off to take a cab down to Changi Airport! Hahaha, my parents were looking at us from the windows as we waited for a cab.

Feeling really happy! We walked around at the duty-free shops before we headed to our boarding gate. I tell you, security's a pain. They made me take off my boots! Mind you, I was the only one who wore boots and was asked to take off! What about the other ladies who wore boots?! Asses. It was so damn troublesome cuz I have to tuck my jeans back into my boots AGAIN. *RAWR* So irritating.

We are going to leave Singapore!

That's our plane.
It was a long-haul flight, so I caught a movie. =) Then we touched down at HK International Airport!

*there's paparazzi after us!*

Buggies are a common sight, you hear them before you see them. Hahaha, and the travellators, they will say "please mind your step" or something along those lines when you step on it. =D

Went into duty-free and bought sweets! =D

While waiting for Bern. Gosh, my skin was nice while I was there! Horrible breakouts when I got back to Singapore x(

Boarded the plane to Taipei shortly, then watched some documentary on feathered dragons *yawn* and I fell asleep... until time for lunch =D it was some sandwich thingy that tasted pretty good! =D

After touching down at Taipei Taoyuan Airport, we visited the loo, and got ourselves a drink.

You get to choose to drink hot, warm or cold water.

Taiwan - Touch Your Heart; touch mine too.

Our luggages were limegreen, so it was really easy to spot them on the conveyor belt. =D Picked them up really quickly and met up with our driver. We stepped out and wooooooo, cold wind greets us! It's as if the whole of Taipei's in an air-conditioned bubble or something. We waited for him to drive the van out and we saw..

Like, WOAH!!! Parking on a kerb??

I don't know how this fella parked his car. 2 wheels on the road and the other 2 on the kerb.

View from the van as we made our way to Seasons Hotel.
It was a pretty long ride... So we took a nap

Finally we reached our hotel. It was surrounded by dull buildings and it really stood out. Had some conflicts about the room, because we paid a more expensive rate for a bigger room with queen/king-sized bed, but it turned out to be a double bed that's placed really close together. In the end, we took the smaller room with the same theme, that comes with a big bed for us. By the way, the hotel has rooms with different themes for people to choose.

Taking a rest

Jacuzzi tub! It's a little scary though, when you hit the jacuzzi button, the lights go dim and there are lights in the tub! And it starts with a red light. $ %%&^#$@!

After settling in, we headed out to take a train down to Xi Men Ding! We purchased the card and woah, the people here are really discplined. On the escalator, people really keep to the right and the left side is for people who are rushing. They even queued up to board the train *gasp*

Me and my card!

Xi Men Ding

We walked and we saw....

Hotdogs! =D It's fried with batter around the hotdog, yummy!

We shopped somemore, and we ate again.

Meesua from the famous stall. There are loads of people standing around in the cold, enjoying their lovely bowl of piping hot meesua just like me and Bern :D

Darkness falls pretty fast, like at around 6, it looks like 8 already. After shopping somemore, we decided to go back to our hotel, put down our shopping bags and head out to the night market. We got back at around 8ish and we decided to head out at around 9:30PM. So we lazed around and watched some TV... and fell asleep. All the way to next morning hahaha =P
