last weekend was a pretty lazy, but nice one. went tanning with my baby on our 8th monthiversary on saturday :) he got me the nike watch i like from the latest merge collection hehehe... *beams* and i got him the ck one summer cologne... :) then we headed back home for a shower and slacked, cuddled napped all the way till its time to go over to my uncle's place for BBQ. and cuz i've been feeling a little under the weather, i decided to eat light meals like porridge and soupy stuff.. and so.. we went to this place at clarke quay for porridge! in chinese the restaurant is 'da wan zhou', which mean big bowl of porridge.. and the bowl is really big and the porridge's yummy! so filling *rubs tummy* after that, then we popped by my uncle's place. didn't eat, but my baby ate because just like me, he doesn't know how to say 'no' at times. hahaha :)
sunday was spent tossing and turning in bed in pain because the dreaded time of the month is here. it hurt so bad that i couldn't walk cuz my legs were really weak and achy and i was crawling my way to the kitchen to get water to take panadol menstrual with... darn, i hate feeling this way every month! >=( i couldnt sleep cuz my legs were aching so badly so i used the uzap my mummy bought to zapzapzap my legs and it felt better after a while hahah :) watched kinky boots with my baby and gave up after a while halfway thru because the dvd was jerky towards the middle-end part. TMD. 100 baht for a DVD that i cant even watch entirely.... Video-EZY here we come! so yups, we took a nap again. or rather, he tried to sleep but i kept disturbing his rest hahaha
i know women would rather have bacon kept in the fridge than have a pig lying on the couch at home. but i wonder why mum put up with you, bastard. she definitely deserves better. i hope you die, like really soon. go gamble, go smoke, go die, go do whatever you want because it doesn't bother me one bit. you stopped existing a long time ago to me already. you stopped deserving respect a long time back when money around the house starts disappearing and when you were with another woman. i hate men who hit their wives/children. nothing but a piece of useless scum with two heads that can't think for nuts.

i'm home earlier than expected because i was suffering from a really bad migraine and i decided not to join my colleagues for dinner in the end because i dont wanna spoil ppl's moods when im not feeling well.. and now, i got piercing pains in my stomach and it's been hurting since bern sent me home. i don't know what's the cause, but i think it's perhaps high time to start eating healthy already, hehe.

That place is da bomb man!! Service was good and we were spoilt for choices when it comes to food! haha, im so happy that my thoughts start to rhyme :) there were loadsa cuisine available... french, thai, japanese, indian, western, u name it, it's here! and dessert was tres bien i tell you. chocolate fondue, mousse cake, strawberry sorbet ice-cream with generous sprinkling of skittles and yummy stuff in a shot glass... i tell you, i thought we arrived at gastronomic heaven :)
i didn't take much pictures.... but i shall leave you with a shot of my 2nd/3rd round of dessert...

At work
Take a look at your friends, then list up to 10 things you want to say to 10 different friends. DO NOT state who these people are. DO NOT confirm or deny any "comment speculation". Then tag five 5 people. It's Pretty Fun.. whichever way....you're thinking, that is.
01) oei, when are we meeting up? i thought we're supposed to meet up for dinner or something after our papers?

working at MTV
RAWKS!!!!!
Received an email yesterday informing us that we can do advanced booking for robbie williams' concert before it is officially open to public next Monday. Working in the media sure has its perks ;)
Paycheck's in! YAY!! Feels good to see like more than 1.4k in your bank account suddenly when you checked ur account via ibanking. =D time to pamper myself silly tomorrow!
[edit]
Ohhkay, some pictures taken some time ago, but no time to post...
Tea Cosy/Eclectic Cafe
Went there after work one day in the first/second week at MTV :) The place is nicely done-up, the food was so-so, and the price was shengjingbing. The price is unjustified. *tsktsk* And it's kinda weird dining in a place where you see price tags in your face, telling you the table you're using is of this price, the lamp above your head is that price, you get what i mean. Oh yah, photography is not allowed, so irritating.

before our orders came

I kinda like this picture :)
Island Creamery
We went there some time back and we wore our Adam & Eve shirts! =D hahaha, It sure attracted alot of attention from the moment we both stepped into the outlet. People were smiling, and gesturing to their partners/friends to take a look at us, even the ice-cream servers looked at us a couple of times! and they weren't really subtle doing that. hahahah =P

Modern day Adam & Eve

at the kids' doodling corner
Their variety of ice-cream is really interesting! hehe, they have like horlicks flavoured ice-cream... tiger sorbet [made out of the actual tiger beer!!] woahhhhhh. We also took a photo, printed it out on the spot and left it at the outlet to put up on their wall... We'll be back to check it out!! =D
Pictures have also been added at various entries below, like the D&D and Graduation 2006 :)

Graduating class of 2006
I managed to take half-day leave to attend my graduation ceremony in the morning. It was.... goood. Speech by the guest of honour was good. It's a pity that Jenn and Ju Leen weren't able to make it. =( Would love to graduate and take a nice picture together. Talked and took pictures with people whom I've worked with, yadayada... The worst thing of all was prolly having a faulty video presentation that showcased us, the graduating class of 2006... in year 1, 2 and 3.. hahaha :) And I'm feeling extremely happy and proud of Shuling.. :) *haha all of MCM stood up to give Shuling a standing ovation!* haha and the best of it all, having two important people in my life watch me walk up the stage and receive my scroll from the director - bern and my mummy. and what really touched me was that my mum rushed down from her shift work (she works night shifts in SGH) to be early for my graduation... and she gave me a mini bouquet of flowers, a wide smile and a hug. :) and that really touched me.

Kim & I: Yr 2 classmates/groupmates, she drew the Hanasplast ducky and she's also my ITP chat buddy online hehe

Christine and I: my year 2 classmate/groupmate for Hanasplast. We both stayed up late to do the flash ad :) *hug*

Francis, my next door SP group neighbour hehe

Eunice and I: My RadioJourn partner for airtime worthy bulletin on RSI! *beams* check it out here at http://www.rsi.sg/english/youngexpressions/view/20060422151147/1/.html

the stage. i think the school really spent loads of moolah on it. *must be from the school fees we paid, hahaha*

My Yr 1 classmates :) Daryl, me, Yi-long

MCM girls! Met Liling in French enrichment class in year 1, worked with Kelly for PITCH, met Anita and Elyn in Adcre class and also through school's various leadership programs/activities

My mummy & I :D

My baby & I *hug*

MCM's outstanding student who swept almost every award possible, Shuling! So proud of you lahh :) She's petite but she has a big smile and a big heart... I still keep the collage of 1T01 you made for us! *hughug*
Haha, and somehow I feel like MCM's graduation ceremony is some form of a fashion parade. While other people from other schools might don the basic (yawn, boring) staples of a shirt (usually white) with pants/skirts and a blazer, MCMers or rather FMS peeps make the effort to look good. Think nice white cropped blazer with a nice white dress, white Victorian blouse with skirt, some wore white with black with style... you know, that kinda thing. :) hahaha
Well... as for me, I've learnt many lessons during my course of study here. But the most important lesson I've learnt is to be flexible and adaptable, so when Life throws you a curveball, you can handle it well. For example, if you are doing a flim production and you initially wanted to shoot it in a dark alley. But you can't find any dark alley that suits the imagery in your mind, so you think of the next best alternative. I think this important lesson is one that not everyone will get to learn as well... haha, engineering students deal with maths problems... bio students deals with chemistry and maths and prolly bio and physics as well... but nothing can really compare to what MCM has taught me :) To be able to handle stress and lack of sleep, to be adaptable, to be professional, to handle whatever the future has in store for me. I'm proud to say that the Kelly you're seeing today is the result of everything I've been through. I love who I am, I like the person I've turned out to be and I'm not done evolving yet. :)
And another thing I've learnt is to be nice to everyone when you're on your way up, because you have no idea who you'll meet on your way down. Being nice to everyone helps you get things done faster, hehe. I think this is a piece of advice everyone can use for themselves. ;)
Life is an amusement park; choose the kind of rides you wanna take, and enjoy every moment of it while you're on it. :)

Magnum Masquerade 2006!
[edit] pictures are in! [/edit]
Haha, this post has no pictures cuz I didn't bring my camera.. so till Bern sends me the pictures, it will remain pictureless.
Anyway, it was fun! :) ahaha, at least for me. We all came down earlier to pump helium into our metallic purple and emerald balloons to decorate the place, do up the drapings for the entrance, prepared the registration/reception counter, rushing the door-gifts and charades sentences, yadayada. Despite the last minute panics before the actual event started, it was good :)
I think all of us heaved a sigh of relief when people thought that the food wasn't too bad, some even said it was better than last year's, so yah :)
I really appreciated the guests' efforts to dress up, like Derek and Kaiwen who came as a pirate and Zorro, Chitra as prom princess, Zhijun for her commenable cockscrew perm hairstyle, Tianyin's outfit (WOAH! Stunning lah), Jannies for her jaw-dropping red bareback dress, all the guys who actually wore a suit-styled outfit to attend the Dinner & Dance and all had their masks with them as well (okay, almost all)! :)
Was really psyched up when I saw Lenny and gave him a hug immediately. It's been a long time since I last saw him at the WCG performance. :) Realised I missed him alot... Didn't manage to catch up alot with him cuz I was running around, but I read his message in our guestbook.. it was really sweet. :) If you didn't know, he was one of the inspiring people who really epitomised what cheerleading is really about and made cheerleading fun, tough, enjoyable when I just started.
And of cuz... according to the guests' votes, this year' Miss & Mr Magnum 2006 goes to Jannies and Kaiwen! hahaha =)
Now for some pictures!

Welcome welcome! Can I help chiuu?

Metallic purple and emerald helium balloons all around!

Magnum Powerpuffs: Yixin, Grace, Yifang

Us! Siti, Me, Syaza

Us during Buttons dance number

Gorgeous juniors: Iris, Tianyin, Jannies and Emily
Hahaha, now a game of balloon fun ;) If Dion came, I wonder how he would react =P

First you pair up and blow up balloons till they are about to burst..

Next, you tie them around your ankles...

and strategise how to be the last one standing....

and have fun doing so! ;)

Grace, Felicia, Bern

Our Miss Magnum nominees

Mr Magnum nominees

Taking the lead, Jannies and Derek

Our Miss & Mr Magnum 2006 nominees taking the catwalk: Chitra and Fifi!
There are a couple more I would like to share but I realised that I'm prolly gonna spend alot of time uploading pictures to other entries as well, so I shall stop here :D
I'm really thankful that everything ended and now, we can all just meet up for a good meal, a movie instead of meeting at dinner time to discuss the headaches/ what needs to be solved at the event. This won't be the last time we're all meeting up :) *hughug*

I realised I've been lucky all my life, whenever I didn't do/complete my homework, my teachers will not be in school and the sorts (I didn't jinx them!). I should start a habit of counting my blessings everyday. :)
Counting my blessings:
- To manage gettting a seat on the bus to work in the morning
- Having a loving boyfriend to send me to work and picking me up from work (no matter how late I work till)
- Working in a cool place [despite the fact that it can get stressful when I'm bogged down with stuff to do] with nice people who bother to make you feel that you are part of the team. I'm saying this before I know of the other two girls who recently joined the company leaving for lunch break alone/ going home alone, whereas I have colleagues who will start MSN conversations to rouse everyone when it's lunch time.
- Having approachable colleagues to turn to when I encounter problems at work. =D
- Being able to get away from work to attend my graduation ceremony next thursday, thanks to HR and understanding supervisor
- Having my RadioJourn assignment broadcast on air, transcript available on RSI website =D [thanks shuling for informing me!!]
I think it's about appreciating the littlest things in life that makes you a happier person, like me. :)
Counting my blessings:
- To manage gettting a seat on the bus to work in the morning
- Having a loving boyfriend to send me to work and picking me up from work (no matter how late I work till)

Blogging from my working place now. Been busy lately, learning something new everyday, like knowing how to add new tapes into the traffic system and all. :) heard about sad news as well, that many colleagues are leaving because the office is moving/contracts are ending and they're not renewing/they are leaving for another job somewhere else/ delete where appropriate. =(
oohh. also checked out the place for our D & D. the place's awesome. :) it's at le baroque, classy enough for our theme. so yups... your money's well-spent! =D
been watching movies with my baby these days, we caught benchwarmers on sunday and over the hedge last night. both of them are really good. :) i like over the hedge!! all the characters are so adorable.. this is the first time that i have no preference which character i like the most, and for once, you hear avril lavigne utter more than monosyllabic answers. =P the storyline's pretty good, alot better than corny cartoon movies we've been bombarded lately. it's really worth your money, so go watch it if you haven't.
nothing much for now. till i find interesting stuff to write about!

Second day at work wasn't too bad. Brought my desktop companions like Stitch Nodding-head, Bob Purple, pink varsity Cheerleader Cheer Bear. :) I've also put up some photos and lomographs, didn't dare to put too much in case I'm shifting desks soon. Ohh!! I also left my Flounder cup which Bern bought for me at Disney On Ice at the office. =) I'm starting my hands on a bit of work already, it's relatively alright. Just need a pair of eyes that dart really fast haha :)
This week has been good. Spent time with my friends and my baby. Met up with the gang to celebrate Syaza's birthday, ahaha I'm sure it's one not to be forgotten.. with all the detours and walking around. :) Let's still meet up often when our Juleen and Jennifer start their careers and making their mark as the Singapore Girls, k? Love ya girls :)
Picked up tennis from my baby as well. He has been nothing less than an encouraging/ patient/ inspiring coach-cum-boyfriend. :) Hopefully in time to come, we can play a decent game together. As they say, couples that play together, stay together. :)
I like we set aside a day for tennis, a day for gym workout and another for running. It makes me feel like that there's more to do in a relationship than just hanging out, watching movies and eating. :) I love how we always talk about our future plans, about how we would decorate our shophouse in light gray and lilac with dark purple floral trimmings, fight about who's going to cook and who's gonna wash the dishes, what names to give our kids and all. I certainly think I've come a long way from being a committment-phobe to be able to visualise a future with someone special. And if.... this relationship doesn't work out, I'm going to lose faith in myself, men and committed relationships. And I'll spend the rest of my life living with my pet cats.
Hahaha, of course I'm kidding. This relationship is going to work. :) I have faith. *contented sigh* I'm happy the way things are and what life had presented me with.

1st day @ MTV
I'm feeling so happy! =D I feel like I belong here already. Earlier on this morning, I was given a tour aroudn the office to check out the various departments and to meet people with two other new staff from different departments (finance and programming). This place is filled with Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Starfish merchandise!! There are others too, but Spongebob is like E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E!
I have my own table, my own phone extension, and check. this. out. my own email address at kelly.chai@mtvasia.com!!! =D As I was accessing my new email, I came across this email:
click to enlarge if you want to:

This is regarding this NICKS Kicks event at Sentosa on 10th June and staff are entitled to 4 tickets per person! =D This is the beginning to all the fun here man, I'm so psyched-up! If this is not cool, I dont know what else is.
I also got to know that I'll be handling the VH1 India and MTV Indonesia channels in a couple of weeks.. and I'll be shifting desks as well. I'll be sitting beside Chiu Yan, this girl I got to know online on LiveJournal! =D brilliant aight?
One more cool discovery: The vending machines in the Break Out Lounge dispenses drinks for F-R-E-E! hahahaha, Siti if you work at MTV, you can drink Coke everyday to your heart's content!
My colleagues are really nice and friendly, they feel like they are just like my big sisters and I'll be learning the ropes from them :)
Oh did I mention that I saw May and Choy today as well? =)
Life can only get more exciting in time to come ;)
