Of an disgusting encounter & Da Vinci Code

Went down to MTV Asia to sign my contract with them. It will be a 6-month long stint and after that, let's hope that things work out and I'll be free to work in other departments after that 6 months.. :) *Must do well and impress.* New beginning on the 1st of June and I'm sure it's an experience I won't forget. I can proudly say that I've put things whatever bugged me and have moved on to bigger things. I'm happy that I'm currently holding a job I want and doing freelance designing, perfecto. ;) Can you say the same eh?

Today, I stepped on something squishy and a lil slippery while walking to Salvation Army Thrift Store at Clementi to see if I can dig (metaphorically) any good buys. I turned around and looked.

And I saw a dead lizard looking back at me and I nearly went into cardiac arrest. @$#$! I. Stepped. On. A. Dead. Lizard. With. My. Birks. Must santitize it. *eyes widen open*

Anyway, there has been a drought of pictures recently so here they go:

After my MTV second interview that day, went to OUB Centre to try the cafe Toast because apparently they had raving reviews cuz Bern was searching the whole day on places with good food while I was at work :)

Taken on his camera while he was making our orders

our lunch!

after eating at Toast, we took a walk and settled near the merlion and blowed bubbles! x) Bern carried his astroboy bubble toy everyday so it's perfect to whip it out and play hehehe. I love my abercrombie skirt!!!! =D the beauty of SGselltrade on LiveJournal x)

On Saturday after meeting, this is at Spotlight! hahaha

with the white bunny ears

with the pink pair now!

the little beaver

newly-opened B&J at Cathay! brilliant, I no longer need to trudge all the way down to Suntec for my fix of B&J! And this outlet is waayy cooler than the rest x)

The other 2 men who are important in my life other than my baby - B&J!

Caught Da Vinci Code the day it premiered with high expectations because

1) I'm a fan of the novel
2) Based on the imagery in my head, it should be quite a blockbuster movie

But... It fell short of my expectations. =( What was the director thinking!?

If you haven't watched the Da Vinci Code and you would like your movie experience not to be tampered with, DON'T GO ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPOIL IT YOURSELF! Only read when you're done with the movie. x)

THE GOOD

  • Nice pacing of the story, perhaps because I've read the book twice already and I knew what was going to take place
  • Nice scenery, the Lourve and all
  • Good choosing of characters, err only for Teabing and Sophie. Tom Hanks looked so stoned in the movie
  • Loved it when Teabing and Tom Hanks were debating
  • They showed the corporal mortification by wearing the cilice and flagging himself, I was practically squirming in my seat

THE BAD

  • What ought to be an intimate setting was changed. Sophie was supposed to be reunited with her granny and her younger brother at the Rosslyn Chapel but instead in the movie, she was greeted with the 'keepers of the secret' and her grandma. Like how to gather the keepers in such a short period of time when she was down in the darkened room??!
  • Jacques Sauniere IS the Grandmaster & Sophie's granddad. Don't be so ridiculous to change him to a foster granddad to 'keep Sophie safe' because she's THE secret to be protected.
  • Silas is an albino, which means he ought to have white hair, white/pale skin and pink eyes. Why didn't they give him pink contact lenses!?
  • Why did they only show from the second cryptex onwards?! People need to be shown the first, which is 'SOFIE' to show why in the show Sophie wasbelievingg the whole story entirely.
  • The reason that Sophie Neveu disassociated herself from her grandfather is that she discovered him participating in a pagan spring sex ritual at his home, when she made a surprise visit there during a break from college a couple of days earlier, not because she wanted to track down her family and he made her swear not to do it again and packed her off to a boarding school and she came back to discover her grandad engaging in a sex ritual. sheeeesh.
  • Robert and Sophie were supposed to like, be interested in each other and arrange for a meeting sometime later in Florence after he's done with some presentation/lecture. But how come Sophie was just grateful to him for helping out and didn't seem to express an interest in going out with him?

AHHH!! In this case, book wins hands down.
