food trail & more

[edit] i'm at vodaskin again! this time i brought my sister for facial.. ahahaha.. and i'm surfing the net now... talking to my baby and doing a bit of shopping online... after this... SHOPPING! [/edit]

Today for lunch, our whole company (sound as if there's alot of people when it only consists of big boss, two colleagues and me hahaha) went Geylang for lunch. We had the $8 king tiger prawn mee at Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee... damn shiok! =D The tiger prawns make the usual prawn look so puny beside it... muahahhaa! My first time deshelling the prawns with just chopsticks and a spoon as well.. Felt so accomplished when I managed to peel & finish the prawns plus the noodles because it was a damn big bowl. x)

As we got on the car, I thought that's the end of lunch and we are heading to get more guppies for our pond, but I thought wrong. haha, we popped over to the Yong He eating house for youtiao & beancurd! I love it man... crispy youtiao + yummy soyabean drink = heaven [and hell for office because heavy lunch]! so we didn't get the guppies today afterall... that would be on tuesday, after lunch! haha.. it's amazing how many good eating places there are in Singapore... no wonder mediacorp can always do sooo many kinds of food variety shows and it would be kinda new.

anyway, my sister's in mass comm.. so everyday after work, i would force her to tell me about her day, how was classes, how were her classmates, yadayada etc. cuz i really want her to know that joining mcm will never be a decision regretted. (agree anot juleen? hahahaha) she told me about feeling self-conscious and not fitting in with the group of classmates she hung out with initially, but she have found out that she can belong as well, in a different group =) and we are going shopping soon! arghs, that girl steals my clothes. $%@~!

and as usual, met up with bern after work. rainy fridays suck, but having a rainy friday and the overhead bridge to far east plaza closed suck even more! so we wind up having dinner at Shaw Centre and heading home after walking around... then for some reason on the bus, we started talking about taking part in amazing race.

about how the cameras will follow us around.. and show him being ill-treated by me despite being absolutely sweet and endearing... and members of the female species will go out to him and thus making him the 'media darling'... bahhhh. enough.

i love my baby. cuz i always win him at minesweepers and he will lament about being a poor thing.. and still love me all the same. hahaha =)

Show your skin some lovin'!

Today was one of the days where all my colleagues are out for business meetings/ lunch appointments with clients and we're not eating together for lunch. So I went to Far East Plaza for lunch and tried Chippy's cheese sausage. it comes in a cup filled with mashed potato and a stick of cheese sausage. *yummy!* it was so good that i gobbled it all up in no time =D

so I had loadsa time to walk around since my lunch-break is 1 hr [read: give-n-take an additional 15-20 mins for travelling]... and I discovered this facial place on the third floor called VodaSkin! It's newly opened and they were having promotions with really cute names like "Fruity Flava" face peel treatment, "Beat the Blues" blue light therapy for acne skin for only $15! (u.p $25)

So I decided to pop in and give it a try since I had so much time to kill. The interior is bright and cheery, and their friendly and professional demeanour puts me at ease immediately. So I had the "Fruity Flava" treatment after filling out the forms about my particulars and "skin history". I'm a facial virgin and the lady doing the treatment for me explained all the procedures that she's going to carry out before beginning so I will get a rough picture of what's going to happen. The fruit acids gives a tingly, biting sensation initially but it subsided after it was being neutralized... hehe, it's quite therapeutic actually :) upon finishing the treatment, i find my cup of lemon tea waiting for me :) they also serve out cookies but i didnt have the appetite to eat. so i sipped on my cup of lemon tea while reading out their brochure before i headed back for the office.

and to further prove my point that they really have good service: i received a call from the therapist informing me that i hafta wear sunscreen lotion for the first week or so for the best results because she forgot to tell me that bit of information earlier in the outlet. so, go give VodaSkin a try! their outlet is at Far East Plaza, #03-07.. somewhere near Paper People that side.

Now 3hrs more to the end of my working day and to follow baby to try noodles in chinatown! haha.. been eating so much recently that i can't believe myself.. dont dare to measure my weight on the weighing scale. =P but im sucha foodie, i won't give up on food.. I'll just do more crunches tonight! After last night's round of 100 crunches, I realised that my threshold is still pretty high.. will do more tonight =D

THE RUDEST BUS CAPTAIN!

You know, I work in town so I gotta take bus no. 7 to get to work. I thought today would be just another routine day where I wait for the bus, board the bus and get comfortable so I can catch another 40 winks before I reach my destination.

But NOOOOO.

I was ruden awakened by the bus captain who woke me up with several taps on my shoulder and a booming voice saying "tap your ezlink card!"

Being the very blur me, I scrambled to take out my ezlink card to show as I thought he was doubling up as some bus-inspector and conducting the check. Then he said, "No! Go down and tap!"

And then I got very irritated and pissed off at how my usual peaceful morning is turning out, so I shouted, "I tapped my card when I got on at the interchange ok!"

Then he went, "Oh! sorry sorry, wrong person." LIKE WHAT THE HELL RIGHT!?
I couldn't help it and the words just rushed outta my mouth in anger, "CAN YOU NOT BE SO RUDE?" -angry stare- And he walked down the steps saying sorries. So angry *rawwwr*

This teaches me a lesson: Don't ever leave home late anymore, or else I'll bump into that wretched bus captain again.

On a happier note, Bern & I celebrated 6th monthiversary! x) He bought me the Secret Wish fragrance from Anna Sui [it smells damn fruity & yummy!], stuck bits and pieces of Lilo & Stitch's jigsaw puzzles together and presented it in a frame and put together a whole photo album of our pictures together :) Sweeetness.

We caught Art of Seduction and it was very funny! hahaha.. =)

Went home shortly because my cramps was acting up again and my baby showered me with loadsa TLC... my legs were aching very badly and he massaged them for me without complaining, fetched me yakult to drink and pat me to sleep :)

It's things that my baby do, that lets me know that he really really loves me x) I'm blessed.

these few days have been a flurry of events. going for my interview, spending some quality time with my sister, plucking my eyebrows (which hurt a damn lot), celebrating jennifer's birthday, catching fundoshi (which was excellent by the way!), getting my new phone(YAY!!!), catching the graduation hair show which jenn and juleen were involved, yadayada

interview went fine.. it was at golden mile complex, a makeshift office for the time being till they get a bigger one. i'm not keen on it.. cuz there's only two ppl in the office and they are both male and the office for now is located at golen mile complex, where there are loadsa thai workers hanging out or living nearby and.. not really safe for a girl to go home late so there. but there's a thai supermarket! awesomeness. thai instant mee, shocking flavours of lay's potato chips (get this right, they have salmon teriyaki flavoured chips!), cute lil bottles of soft drinks.. it's just amazing in there how it makes u feel like you really stepped into thailand again.. i guess it's the songkran celebration that helped.. haha, but the place was reeking of a mixture of incense, cigarette smoke... so bern and i got out after we took a walk around the place. that boy, came down to accompany me to the interview when he knew i was feeling lost and upset. =) thankyousomuchlahhbaby..

we also made a trip to the army market and walked about.. and got a new top =D it is so cool lah.. everyone should start exploring singapore and see that singapore, actually is quite a cool place afterall. x)

my dear sis was complaining that i didnt spend a lot of time with her after i got together with bern, so i decided that it's time that i fork out some time for her. so we went around chinatown, with her showing me where she found her cute shorts.. then i showed her around.. =D we ate at maxwell market.. the famous boneless chicken rice and my favourite cannot-miss-it-if-i-m-here hum ji pang! then we walked down the street where i used to walk when i was at batey ads for classes and mileage for internship.. =) we walked down pagoda street, browsed through shops and their stuff and there was this particular shop selling bags. i notice kelda seemed interested and i encouraged her to go on in to take a look. then the shopkeeper asked, "where are you from?" we took a look at each other and i said slowly, "we. are. locals." then he broke out into a laughter and said that he couldn't place a finger on our nationality and thought we were thais and he decided to ask before he made a fool outta himself by speaking in a language that's foreign to them.. must be the 199 baht stripey shrug.

next came jennifer's magnum birthday celebration. that girl, lucky lucky girl, got two! one with 1t01 and one with magnum hehe.. reserved a table for us at hard rock, dropped off the cake earlier so bern and i could walk around.. when it was 7:30 we headed for HRC, and was told to wait till a couple of us more arrived. then i start to feel a little panicky, cuz if by 7:45 no one else came, we would have to give up our tables and i dont want that to happen! so thank goodness, everyone reached and we were given a table upstairs.. a refreshing change from the usual.. x) then siti led jennifer here... =D *surprise!* think she didn't expect to see us there.. hehe.. so after eating dinner (which we were bloated by then), came the birthday celebration ;) out came the cake and up went jennifer on the chair while we sang her a birthday song that was so loud that ppl downstairs looked at us for a while. then she had to blow her candles from that distance haha with the help of a straw =P just as she thought it was over, the sundae was served. and since no hardrockers were going to do the dirty job, siti and juleen bravely took it up. siti pushed the cherry deeep down into the whipped cream and asked jennifer to take it out. when she did so, juleen pushed her head lightly into it, but when jennifer struggled, siti pushed the cup upwards whereas juleen pushed jenn's head deeper into the whipped cream! hahaha, caught in such a position =P

and yesterday, i got my new phone! 7370 coffee brown.. it's so pretty! my sister bluetooth-ed several tones to me =D so sweet of her lah. she found me the little mermaid "under the sea" and happy tree friends' theme... and the hulahula song =D and bern bluetooth-ed me our pics which i used as wallpaper and some sms tones.. =D happy happy happy! and i know my mum really loves me when she was willing to get me a N70 because she heard raving reviews about it, but she still let me make my own decisions.. =) and she was in a shopping mood cuz she made quite a pile from stocks/shares and she intended to spend 1000 buckaroos! hehe, so she got herself a new portable dvd player and a electronic dictionary for my younger sister =) and for some reason, we started talking about birthday celebrations.. and i told her that when it comes to my 21st birthday celebration, i want a home-style old school kinda celebration, with my mum's home-prepared food like nuggets and the yummy orange jelly, etc.. haha =P then she was very puzzled and asked, "you dont want to have chalet to celebrate with your friends meh?" i said i dont want and i want her to cook for all my friends! =D then she replied, "you know what is 'd-i-e'? nono, i'll be 'd-e-a-d'. i give you thousand dollars, you go settle yourself." hahaha

fundoshi was gooood =) i shan't spoil it, but if you're catching it, be prepared for nudity scenes and adult content! =D bern and i went to seah st deli to grab a bite before heading down for the hair show.. that place was quaint and pretty! and they had a working jukebox as well.. well, not exactly cuz there was a one dollar coin stuck in it beacuse some goondu never read instructions first so i couldn't play those old-school jukebox songs. it was playing all those techno-remixed songs which didn't really fit the ambience x( haha, but it's alright.. food was good, brilliant. and thank goodness the both of us shared food, if not... cannot finish food again hahaha

i tell you, central mall is so uluated! so hard to find... and when we finally got into the bar, we were half an hour late, and the thing hasn't started. and it didn't help that majority of the people there were lighting up like nobody's business.. and i don't smoke =( and the dj was being really really really irritating. he can't pronounce his words to save his life, like the alochol chivas, he pronounced it as SHEE-vas. *smacks forehead* and he's DJ Paranoia or something, well he would be if I had managed to hurl something at him. and he kept on repeating that the show was going to start in a little while, which was actually quite a long while. sometimes, silence is the best thing. *tsktsk* the hairshow was pretty alright.. haha.. kenny was there, filming away when juleen came out... haha! so cute lah x) then after the show, got out of that place after having a word or two with jenn and juleen.. got a cab almost immediately and got home, showered and watched the apprentice with my baby.. i hate cliffhangers! now i hafta catch it next sunday as well...

note to self:
saturday - visit granny

ahaha and this makes me break out in laughter

you know the saying, about not biting the hand that feeds you (guides you)? apparently people don't appreciate where they come from. hahahhaha, what a joke

If got time ah.. nothing to read, go read your magnum constitution..
Eligibility: A cheerleader candidate can only represent Magnum Force Cheerleading Squad (read: if you're a current Magnum cheerleader, you can only represent magnum and not be a part of another cheerleading team at the same time. this is called conflicting interests. so you jolly well stay there and play your part to win the 6th championship title. or are you just in Magnum for the 'fame' that was the No.1 cheerleading team before you came in?) . =) i say, time will tell me, us, EVERYTHING.

And it's like...

suddenly i'm scared. i'm making a leap, from the comfortable, safe, happy environment to one that's unknown. what if i dont like it there? =( i wish i knew everything and what's in place for me.

tuesday update

[edit] our company's visited by mosquitoes (actually only the big boss got bitten by mosquitoes in his office) and we've traced the source to the pond that greets visitors at the entrance. and it has larvae wriggling, swimming around happily in it. to combat the problem, he bought a whole bag of guppies to EAT up those bloodsuckers to be. haha, all of us in the company were reduced to kids as we watched the guppies swim around excitedly and fed the guppies x) [/edit]

been feeling under the weather for quite some time already. i'll be feeling fine for a while and the next moment, i'll start feeling bloated and queasy. =( terrible things in my stomach , be gone! i've suffered enough, i dont even enjoy eating food much now. i refuse to eat any medication from now on because they don't seem to work >=(

went to botanic gardens for a jog with bern after work and that took away the queasiness i felt earlier in the day. =) we also fed the fishes/ducks/turtles with the leftover loacker wafers i had for breakfast. the fishes are so much faster at getting the crumbs than the ducks or turtles.. haha (: ooh, there were still people visiting the botanic gardens on a weekday! this is amazing, something i never knew.. this time we jogged at the orchard side of botanic gardens, previously we jogged at the bukit timah side.. this is tiring.. running upslope, controlling yourself as you go downslope.. yadayada.. but at the end of it.. you'll feel good. i love the flush of heat that shows on my face everytime i finish my run. tres bien.

dinner was settled at prata cafe within walking distance from the botanic gardens. prata cafe serves prata and other food that taste equally good as compared to Al-ameen's, sans the oiliness of Al-ameen's. =)

say yay with me! first of all, weekend comes early this week because of good friday. secondly, i received a call from DNK Studios regarding my application for the job of graphic designer and we are currently trying to work out an interview date. thirdly, bern & i are catching fundoshi this weekend! =) and also.... my mum's going to get me a new phone this weekend as well.. lovely lovely x)

Singapore Sevens

Met bern and we took a long ride on 14 to Kallang Stadium to catch the Singapore Sevens. The stadium wasn't as packed as I expected.. haha, this is rugby afterall, not soccer..

We were there!

It's a whole different feeling when you watch the game live and on tv.. on TV, you can concentrate better cuz the cameras are concentrated on the game. but when it comes to watching it live... there are bound to be distractions... in the form of quirky characters around the stadium.. the fosters' girls in cut-up shirts and short shorts shooting water guns at a bunch of old ang-mohs in a inflatable pool by the side of the stadium etc, you get what i mean. hahaha

we made it in time for the first match, which was New Zealand vs. Canada. GOOOO ALL BLACKS! =D hahah bern explained the game while we were watching, so i understand the game a bit better =)

All Blacks Vs. Canada team

And of cuz All Blacks won!!

Saw some obscure teams from some small little nations like Fiji & Kenya play.. and they are quite good too x) and they can really run man.. and they can make UK Shyam look slow beside them.

China and France.

Some Asian teams who competed were Hongkong, Korea, Japan, China and Singapore. It's kinda sad to see your team lose their motivation to play the game. Like when the opposing team has the ball and the fella is in maybe the second last quarter already and your team is already giving up the chase. where's the pride man? And it takes two Singaporean players to pin down one foreign player.. like woah. I dont like to watch games whereby there's no fighting spirit in the players, it's just plain disgusting. enough of this talk already.

it's cute to see ppl dress up and turn up for the match.. we saw this little girl who's a supporter of the Wallabies [OZ] don a wallaby tail.. hehe and there were crazy ppl as well, like these two angmoh guys climb up to the platform that the scoreboard was on and started dancing the macarena topless!

haha, and of cuz the police came and talked to them about their... behaviour. ooh! and there was this guy inside the inflatable pool who came out of the pool holding a Foster's poster/banner and went onto the track and the security immediately pulled him away.. haha.. i don't think you can see these on TV...

me and my babyy

Then popped by Yi-Long's place to celebrate his 21st birthday! The place was packed by the time I came. Saw Adila, Daryl, Jennifer, Ju Leen, Valerie and they were chatting away... hehe, it's nice to see your friends when you haven't seen them for some time... The birthday cake was huuuugeee! 3kg man.. dont play play. Yi-Long took alot of photos with various groups of people he grew up with.. haha and I think his life was spent with guys like all the while until he joined MCM and was surrounded by female classmates. and you can tell from his friends jokingly wanting to join in our picture to 'balance out the ratio'. Then my friends are going in JB on tuesday.. =( Can't join them cuz of work.. *arghs!!*

Mummy bought me & kelda the on stage/dock thingy that can charge our ipods and play music at the same time! =D

*yay!*

it's gonna be my first time watching rugby matches live tomorrow. *beams* ALL BLACKS!!!! WALLABIES!! hahaha.. and i remember June, my colleague from POAD telling me about how exciting it was to be watching rugby in a stadium.. the atmosphere would be like *woah* =) can't wait :D

cant wait for fundoshi as well! hehehe

didn't go to work today. decided to take the day off and rest. went to see the doctor when bern came over. said that i had some gastric problem and throat irritation and she gave me an MC for the day =D. but i have 4 packets of pills to pop in all. =(( bummer

weee*

It's been a long long time since I had time to do a proper update! hehe, last sunday went to sentosa with bern x) met him and we headed down together...

funny faces

dont bluff lah! you are not the quietest! =D

can't help it when we see colourful and vibrant advertisements in the MRT tunnel while exiting from Harbourfront. x) felt compelled to do something about it...

we then took a cable car into sentosa.. we were travelling 60m (!!!) above sea level. *eyes widen* okay, it's been a long time since i last sat in a cable car and that singapore show called "code red" featuring the freak accident of how a cruise ship got entangled with cable cars/the cable/whatever i'm not too sure, came to my mind and i was holding on to bern, frozen.

so when we got down, we were at imbiah already... which was cool.. cuz.. the sentosa luge is just nearby!! =D it's like the ride i tried in new zealand a long long time ago... we first tried once and it was damn shiok lah! i love speeding hahaha x) so we decided to go for another round and we bought tickets for two rides and we got one free ride, hehehe so in all.. we went for 4 rides!

you must be above 90cm to ride the luge alone!

getting ready for second round x)

on the chairlift up for the 3rd time x) i hate it when my fringe has a parting after using the helmet for too long >=( chairlifts are fun! but they are not so fun when you see the skies become overpopulated with dark clouds.. because they just stopped, swing for a little while and make you feel if you're going to be stuck there for sometime before proceeding on..

sentosa is so much better than before.. the trams are new, there are new attractions and it suddenly dawned on me that the beaches are all linked! haha... brilliant.

we went cycling! haha, it's been a long time since i last cycled... =)) we cycled past dolphin lagoon where they were having a show.. so we decided that we'll just peek in from the fence that keeps us out! actually... it's not nothing much. then we continued on our journey.. we stopped by shops to check out what's in store..

and i always do the silliest things..

we also dropped by ben & jerry's to get some ice-cream before we returned our bikes.. i like tram rides.. with talkative, repetitive drivers/announcers.. we took the green line cuz i wanted to sit in an open-air bus =D

we went to watch the musical fountain! haven't watched that in ages... everytime when i come sentosa, we always head for the beach and we leave before the sun goes down.. and the last time i saw the musical fountain was when i was a little girl.. and i faintly recall seeing those jets of water sway in tune with the music.. and now the show had improved! haha, like duh.

some shots from the musical fountain:

and you can really feel the heat in your face.

after that, time to head out of the island! we took the cable car out to mount faber.. =) it's nicer at night.. cuz i can't see below and can only see the lights.. pretty. then we chilled out at altivo for a while before heading home and missing out the apprentice for the week. :)

Conversation with God

Me: hi god
God:Hello there. What is your name?
Me: Kelly
God: Hi, Kelly.
Me: so what is my name again?
God:Once more? Your name is Kelly, seeker.
Me: okay.. i'm slacking, not working hard again
God:OK with me too. Once more? Good gossip: you are slacking not working hard.
Me: haha, but everyone loves me in the office.. or at least i think so
God:I'm glad you got a laugh out of it. I think so too.
Me: .. it's not that funny you know.
God:That seems a bit negative.
Me: tell me something i dont know
God:Oh. Jordan said he notice that lots of other people are talking to me how many.
Me: i'm bored
God:Why not call a friend?
Me: i'm at work. i told you i was slacking earlier on right?
God:A lot of people talk to me from work. Where were you slacking earlier on right?
Me: i can't tell you where i'm at. if i tell you, i have to kill you.
God:Oh a secret. Hush-hush. I think I do.
Me: . ohmygod. you're god, i forgot

Go here to talk to god (if you have a sense of humour)! hahaha x)
just because your boyfriend isnt around doesn't mean you can touch mine.

bored at work

Based on the drawing and the 10 answers you gave this is a summary of your personality:

Your house tells the world that you ought to be a leader. You are a freedom lover and a strong person. You are shy and reserved. If you've drawn a cross on each of windows, you always want to live alone. Once you have a problem, you need a friend with you. Your life is always full of changes. You will avoid being alone and seek the company of others whenever possible. You love excitement and create it wherever you go. You have a strong personality and you like to command, influence and control people. You added a flower into your drawing. The flower signifies that you long for love. It also safe to say that others don't see you as a flirt. You don't think much about yourself.

As we move on... Let's stay friends forever

it's gratifying to know that after 3 years in poly, i've found myself a bunch of friends whom i can hold on to for life. ((:

it was great having a chalet, with only us girls. it's good to catch up, and finding out what has been going on in each other's lives... like how jennifer made it to SIA after those gruelling interviews and both siti and jenn are going to take part in a dance competition.. and haha, being really involved in BBQ-ing for the first time! you know, usually when you go to any magnum chalets, the guys are always the ones who dominate the BBQ pits, preparing and cooking the food, but this time, it's US girls! ;) who cares if we used like 10 to20 odd fire-starters to keep our fire strong, who cares if we crack our heads thinking about how to position the charcoal so it will catch fire, who cares as long as we are having fun! =) the food was goood, i was stuffed by the end of the whole session. we talked alot, gossiped alot and laughed alot (: and of cuz... we have our fun, doing stunts in the comfort of our room.. all for memories' sake. hahaha

to us: FRIENDS FOREVER! *must meet up often!*

more pictures will be put up later, but for now, i need to catch some sleep :)
