I know I'm in denial when I refuse to count down to the day I'm leaving. I gotta spare myself from unnecessary panic attacks. As you already know, my days are numbered (no, I don't want to know the exact number). Friends, if you wanna catch me for coffee/ lunch/ dinner please don't hesitate any longer. I've gotten a one-way ticket so I don't think I'll be coming back during summer break at this point in time. And that would mean that you won't see me for a good 1.5 years. So.... catch me while you still can.

For those who intend to see me off, here are the details:
Date: 5th July (Sunday)
Flight: QF 52 / Terminal 1
Plane will take off at 9:25pm so people, do your math :)

And friends who intend to get me anything, I love cards. And if you wish to get me a gift, it's best to ask me what I'd love to receive haha!

You know, I'm really drained out. I'm tired. I'm resigned.

What hurts the most are accusations.

People really suck the energy out of me.

If you think I'd be bumming around since I no longer needed to wake up early for work, hahaha you can't be anymore wrong. I still wake up early to run in the morning and my social calendar's pretty packed, with people to meet, with things that need to get done, etc.

I feel like I don't have a moment to spare. On Tuesday, met up with Dom for coffee and movie, and then met Weixiang for dinner. On Wednesday, met up with ex-colleagues (gosh, so weird to add 'ex' in front of the word colleagues) for dinner at Brussels Sprouts. I thought I would never say this, but clams doesn't taste as bad as I thought it would! :) Then we went to some pub at Boat Quay where Ariel and co sang to their hearts' content while I played pool. =D We only left around 11ish, I hope the rest managed to wake up on time for work the next day haha! Yesterday, I went down to the travel agency with my mum to settle the payment of the air tickets. You know what, I still can't believe I'm going to study overseas. =\ Oh well... It will hit me soon enough.

Anyways, I went to JB with my mum and sister :) I had a great time and I managed to get a nice winter jacket and some cardigans! Will upload pictures some other time when I'm freer. Another busy day tomorrow, sigh. My facial appointment will be the part of the day I'm looking forward to. Can't say the same for the rest of my day =\

Hmmm. It was my last day at work yesterday.

I really don't feel much. I didn't get teary-eyed and all emotional. Instead I was going around, laughing, talking, hugging and thanking people who had helped me in every way during my stint at MTV.

Maybe it's because my last day falls on a Monday instead of a Friday. Hmm, I'm not really sure. All I know is this: you can take a girl out of MTV, but you can't take it out of her. Everyone, thanks for all the memories and laughter you have brought to me and I'll see you soon (at Ariel's housewarming party)! :)

"You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what’s a life, anyway? We’re born, we live a little while, we die. A spider’s life can’t help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone’s life can stand a little of that."

- E. B. White, Charlotte’s Web

Let's see, here's my initial plan for my half day leave on Monday yesterday:
- Dental Appointment
- Go down to Chinatown to suss out prices for air tickets
- Maybe go get eyebrows shaped as well

But...... because of my toe problem, I only went for my dental appointment and went straight to office. It's too tiring to be hopping around in crutches. I was in a pretty irritatible mood for a good part of the day. You can't blame me for feeling that way, try walking a mile with my crutches man.

Although I wasn't in a good mood, there were still some good in my day. Caring healthcare personnel at the polyclinic getting me a seat while she went to look for a wheelchair for me before wheeling me to the clinic, the kind people I meet on my way home who asked if I needed any help/ made sure that I was okay climbing up and down steps, and the thoughtful bus captain who drove really close to the kerb so I had less problems getting up/ down the bus. :)

I can't wait to go home today to remove the bandage. It's so uncomfortable and I feel like walking in mud with every step I take.

Christian Lacroix the costumier exhibition

Yesterday K and I went to check out the Christian Lacroix the costumier exhibition at National Museum of Singapore. It had been showing there for a while already and this is the last weekend, so it's now or never!

We met up earlier at Dohby Ghaut for Ya Kun breakfast. A cup of tea + two half-boiled eggs + a peanut butter thick toast = satisfied tummy :)

We took 190 there. Ended up walking alot. &!^%@ The weather's a pain in the arse.
K wanted to take alot of pictures, I tried my best to be cooperative. But the weather's really killing me man.

I'm alot happier under the shade, doing jump shots!!

Don't ever say I'm a bully, look who's torturing me!

We thtried to do a jump shot together, FAILED! -.-" We tried several times before we gave up. So tiring!

His turn to jump. Sigh, he got so many shots mid-air. Wonder who's the photographer, HAHHA!

I only managed to get these few mid-air, before I dislocated my fourth toe and got really sullen/ grumpy/ pissed off/ frustrated/ okay I better stop because this list can go on and on for days.

Made our way inside the museum and we saw this:

Art on Site: Love Tank (the Temple) by S. Teddy Darmawan from Indonesia
Tank - an effective war machine, symbol of western supremacy. Traditional Indonesian shrine structure - symbolises the levels of pure love in Hindu-Buddhist thought and are adorned with lotuses, believed to be the padmasana, seats of gods and goddesses.
This installation piece expresses the encounter before the East and West through the visual language of tanks stacked on top of one another into the form of a pagoda. Using lotuses as a camouflage, this killing machines is now a machine bringing love and peace to humankind in this world.

Then, we took the escalator down to the gallery below...

Presenting to you... pictures from the Christian Lacroix the costumier Exhibition

About theatres and costumes
"On stage, everything is symbol, effect, illusion; the costume must speak from the moment the actors, dancers or singers set foot on stage, assisting them physically by being comfortable, but also spiritually by underlining their acting and their role's character. That's why, when working on stage, I like to think that I listen to the director and actors, in all humility, because I'm not serving my own universe but am responsible for illustrating the imaginary world of others, sharing it with inspiration, naturally." - Christian Lacroix (Interview with Xavier Chaumette.)

I'm so glad I didn't miss this exhibition! I went around the gallery, taking in the sights in quiet awe and admiration for the designer.

There was also an interactive station for visitors!
Over here, we can design clothes for the paper dolls with the help of stencils. I joined in the fun of course =D

What you see here are pieces of fabric like velvet, lace, organza and silk.

Here's my sketches! It was really fun hahaha :) Gonna cut them out and attach them onto my doll Emma!

Here's Emma with the skirt I designed!

Looks like the dress materialized from the sketch for Cinderella's ball gown!
