thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! i can't say enough thank yous! =)

thank you everyone of you for remembering my birthday, thank you to those who rang me up (gosh, I'm surprised at some who called up!), thank you to those who left me nice messages on my Wall on facebook, thank you to those who 'sang' me a birthday song via MSN, thank you to those who sent me SMSes... like I say, I can't say enough thank yous. I'm so blessed and fortunate to be remembered by so many friends... I'm kinda embarrassed to say that I have a couple of friends messaging me their greetings but I have no idea who they are =X But I really really appreciate the greetings nonetheless. :)

unlike last year where the greetings came exploding in my inbox at 12 midnight, the greetings streamed in slowly but continuously this year... this is all good :) hahaha, my sister just told me there's a package waiting for me at home and I can't wait to open it when I get home on Sunday!

P/S: JOSHUA WONG, I WANT MY 1,000 WORD LETTER. YOU STILL HAVE 998 MORE WORDS TO GO!
I'm feeling utterly blessed and loved.

I had a fab celebration at work. I had a big bunch of colleagues (alot more than I expected) singing me birthday songs, a funny lil present that made me laugh really hard, and we even called up Tracy (who's in HK eating her wanton noodles at that moment), asking her to sing me a birthday song! :) The cake from Rive Gauche was awesome!

My sister Kelila asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told her that I wanted Taboo. Today while I was at work, she sent me a message on MSN telling me that she didn't buy that for me as she didn't go down to Toys'R'Us and got me something girly instead. I was whining and saying, "Why do you get it for me when you think I wouldn't like it", ".....biattccccch", "Why do you torture me this way?", stuff like that. And she told me that when I get home, I must go search for my birthday present in my room. Oooh, present-seeking I likeeee.

So when I got home, I was mock-grumbling and went searching for the present in my room. And I was so thrilled and surprised that I let out a shriek! =D She got me the Taboo game afterall!! =D I love my sister! I have no idea how much it cost, but I'm sure it ain't cheap... And even if it's cheap, it's still precious to me because my sister got it for me! =D

Previously I mentioned that I wanted my mum to bake me a cake, so here it is! It's so pretty, I love it! We had zichar for dinner downstairs and I'm really happy that everyone was home when I arrived home. Usually my dad would only reach home at around 9ish, so.... it meant something to me :) I love my sisters, I love my mummy, I love everybody!

I want to eat my cake, NOW!!

My sisters and I

Ze family and me!

Yummyyummyyummy I've got love in my tummy!

The cake is sweet and light, and it tastes really awesome (hard to not taste like that when it's baked with loadsa TLC)! It's sucha huge cake, I'll be bringing some to work to share with the colleagues tomorrow. =D

Ooh, I went shopping during lunchtime! =D I managed to get a bag and blazer for $169 after quoting the secret code.. teeheee...

Anyway... it's a great day today and will be an even better day tomorrow! =) We are having firedrill in the morning tomorrow and I'm off in the afternoon! *teehee* Made plans for high-tea buffet at Lao Beijing with sisters and mummy, looking forward to it!

It's so easy to be driven and be focused when you have your eyes on your goals back in school; to be the best in your CCA and have fun doing it, to score an A in your modules and simply to be the best that you can be.

But what happens after you graduate and enrol in the School of Life? Where do you go from here?

My life is going seemingly well on the surface, but there is this undercurrent... of something missing in my life, gnawing me from the inside.

I can't believe just a week or so ago, I was so looking forward to a week-long celebration for my birthday with loved ones and friends. Now, I just wanna run away and be alone.

Sometimes.... I wish I'm less of a mystery to myself.

There are people in your life who've come and gone
They let you down, you know they hurt your pride
You better put it all behind you cuz life goes on
You keep carryin that anger; it eats you up inside

I'm thankful for the angels God planted along the way to and fro Asia Conference yesterday evening :) Ariel and I bumped into her NUS friend at the MRT station and we managed to hitch a ride there instead of squeezing with the peak hour crowd on the train, and her cell group leader dropped me off at a convenient location to hail a cab. And guess what, although the midnight surcharge should have kicked in, the cabbie only charged me a mere $6.90! =D

And... I came home, checked my emails and there it was: an offer letter from University of Queensland! It's gonna be a 3-year course, I wonder why it doesn't seem to have any exemptions made.. hmmm... Hahaha, waiting for QUT's offer to arrive in my inbox now... =)

Feeling very ♥ed because my sister made me peanut butter toast for breakfast in the morning!

I'm looking on the bright side of things... with 4 teeth gone, I'm sure weight will be lost in the process... And I get to bum around at home for at least 6 days! =D This is mighty awesomeeeee

I was positively in shock yesterday after the consultation with the dentist at Jurong Medical Centre. I saw the x-ray taken for my teeth and I'm both amazed and terrified. The dentist used to tell me that my bottom wisdom teeth were pushing against my other teeth whenever I go for my regular polishing and scaling, but I never knew what he meant exactly until I saw the x-ray for myself.

I went there happily thinking I was gonna have to make an appointment to just remove 1 of my bottom wisdom teeth, hah that's just my hopeful, wishful thinking.. I burst out laughing when she said I gotta remove the 4 teeth at one shot. I just asked "Are you kidding me?" and was thinking to myself that this must be some kinda joke. But when I saw her serious expression, I realised it was for real and shock hit me right in the face. 0.0

So.. I've set the D-day to be 5th Dec, they wanted to schedule me for surgery next Friday and I would be outta my mind to do so because it's my birthday next week and no way am I gonna suffer through it all. Thank goodness Joshua will be on leave that day to accompany me, it would be quite a pain to figure out how to go home in a groggy, dazed state after being drugged during surgery.. He says I'm so gonna suffer, but I'm not sure if I'll be the only one suffering... HAHAHA!

But yesterday wasn't all bad... I met up with Christopher after my run for dinner at Original Sin. It's a pretty nice place that serves yummy Mediterrean vegetarian food :) *I never realised how troublesome it was to go vegetarian until recently!* He went to Aussie recently to do some MDC performances and got me some goodies from Supre =D When he smsed me that the dress I wanted wasn't available, I resigned to fate and I asked him to get me the normal basic tops instead. But last night, I got a surprise when he whipped out the dress! Turns out that he managed to find it at this hugeass Supre store in Sydney and he got it for me hahaha.. I'm really thankful for my presents! :)

I watched Ave Q, I'm turning 22!

I had a great, great time yesterday :) I totally enjoyed Avenue Q! Good seats, good company, great show, what more can a girl ask for? If you didn't catch the musical which ended its run in Singapore yesterday, here's an excerpt of it on youtube and see what you've missed out:

I loved the singing, I love the puppets and live characters, and it got me smiling and laughing throughout the show. Despite it being a puppet show, this is totally not meant for kids hahaha, at first I thought it was just the content, but I didn't know that there was going to be live puppet sex! Basically the whole musical takes place in a neighbourhood where its residents try to make sense of issues they encounter in life, like racism, homosexuality, etc. Some songs that I liked: "It Sucks to be Me", "If You Were Gay" and "The Intenet is for Porn". =D hahahaha I wished they had the soundtrack on sale though..

Anyways, I've found THE jewellery musical box! The sister is getting this instead teehee! I'm very blessed :)

I'm swearing off cheesecakes >=( My stomach felt really terrible, to the extent that I actually gave puking a serious thought. I wonder if it has gotta do with my diet reformation... and now it gets me wondering if I would be able to enjoy a slice of chocolate cake without my stomach feeling like shit. Hmmm....

I used to detest the cakes with fruits covered in gelatin my mum makes because I was a super fussy eater when I was younger. But now.. strangely I'm craving for it. My mum said she used to bake cakes on our birthdays... and... I think I'll request for her to bake me one this year! =D

It's weird how I have cravings for food, but I no longer have the impulse to act upon them.. oh well...

About my diet.... Let's just say I... kinda like salads now, and I only take meat on weekends... Hopefully I can be totally weaned off meat in time to come... :)

rainy days have this ability to put me in this emo mood... but i believe the PMS has a part to play in this too haha

made appointment for the consultation abt the wisdom tooth surgery, and booked my practical test date as well... 2 D-days.... =S

anyways.. i'm looking for a musical jewellery box... if anyone has seen it for sale, please lemme know. thanks in advance! my only criteria: several tiers to store jewellery, and a ballerina on top!

I can't believe that I was one day late for my dental appointment yesterday. The appointment was set on 6/11, and somehow along the week, I lost track of time and thought Friday was 6/11. I was one hour late for my previous appointment, I hope I wouldn't been a week late for my next appointment, hahaha!

So... the tip of my upper wisdom teeth have emerged, and one of my lower wisdom teeth is infected and needs surgery. =( I've gotten the referral letter and I need to make an appointment for x-ray and consultation before setting D-date for the operation. =S

Birthday is coming! My sister just upset me =( She was asking me if I would like a iPod nano 4G and offered me several colours (which I didn't like), and I went "No, I don't like the colours, my nano is still serving me well".. Discussion went on for quite a bit, and she asked me to take a look at her laptop screen which was at the cart page of apple, with a product(red) 4G nano with a message to be engraved on the back. And she DELETED the item! *grrrrs* what a...... nevermind. >=( so now I have no clue what she's getting for me...

Anyways, I'm a real simple girl this year.

I've seen some earphones/ headphones from the iShop at cine that I really like too... =D You can ask me, and I can bring you to see for yourself but most probably I'd be getting them myself haha!

Been incredibly blessed! =)

I've received ticket to the Korean Pop Night (which I gave up in the end for the premiere screening) and invite to the premiere screening of Madagascar 2! =D I must say I went into the cinema without any high hopes for the movie because 1) sequels are usually not as good as the first movie and 2) I didn't even like the first movie but, this is surprisingly alot better (and funnier!) than I've expected! And we found a bucket of popcorn and beverage waiting for us in our seat... =D

And... Although I didn't get Mr Soo for my driving lesson, I got an instructor who took me before! (the female instructor was in 117, again!! hahaha) Another fruitful and enjoyable lesson... We covered test routes 1, 3, 6 and 9, tried the s-course for the first time and I now know the best timing to book for my practical test =D I can't wait for the next lesson.. *rubs hands in glee*

The company's giving us 2 extra days off during the Christmas season! =D The office is closed on Boxing Day (26 Dec) and we can take the other day off anytime from Dec 1 - Jan 1... this is just awesomeee.

did i say i love running?

last night, i went jogging with my sister :) now i know my usual route is about 2.94km... oh, i lost my sister half way through the run because she was wayy behind me and i was waiting for her at the traffic junction. i waited and waited but i saw no sign of her. I thought she got kidnapped by the foreign workers or something and I was about to backtrack when I saw a familiar back view lumbering on the other side of the road. -.-" THAT WAS MY SISTER, AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW AND WHEN SHE GOT OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE! So I had to wait for the green man to come on before I ran after her hahaha.

oh yeah, i gotta say.. much as i wanna go organic for skincare... it just doesn't work for me :( i guess i'll just stick to my soap, ACV toner and regular moisturiser...

Come 10 Nov, I'll be going back to doing my regular job because my colleague will be back from maternity leave. I'm not exactly feeling the "Ohmygawd, she's finally back!!!" feeling... More like, "er.. okay.... yay" feeling. But... whatever lah huh... hahaha!

Ok.. gonna sleep early. Having my driving lesson in the morning for the first time tomorrow...

Update on the hive situation: Looks like I've gotten alot of insect bites on my arm, insect bites that increase in size whenever there's contact with perspiration ]=(

samedi, novembre 01, 2008

My arm broke out in hives yesterday. =( It was so damn itchy and looked so damn disgusting that I was feeling frustrated that it happened. Made a trip to the clinic and was prescribed some anti-biotic anti-inflammation cream and some pills to pop to deal with the itch, and the hives have gone down quite substantially. I didn't know that my skin was so sensitive that leaning on the arm rest of the rattan chair will bring on such a reaction... >=(

I've been running regularly and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I hit my target mileage. I love pushing myself to the limits to see how far I can go. :)
Distance: 8km Timing: 52:18
Distance: 4km Timing: 26:58

Seeing that I run so much now... it makes perfect sense to get a new pair of running shoes that's nike+ compatible =D I can't wait to receive my nike sports kit! *hint hint to sister* hahaha =D
