Okay, very quick entry. Tired out for the day, went for a lunchtime gym workout with Ariel, covered 4km easily. I think I'm getting the hang of running :) Maybe next time I can do an overseas run while holidaying... Sounds like a good idea to me. :)

Work's pretty fine today, and the conversation starters in office these days are like, "Are you going up to Genting?", "When are you going up?", yadayada hahaha! Today, we had opened up our latest bottle and had a good time just drinking and eating :) With that said, I'm feeling very blessed to be in this department.

I'm starting to feel the adrenaline rush prior to the trip :) I must thank Velda for coming up with a packing list for me hahaha, you're awesome!

To do list:
- Pick up Fish Eye 2 tmr
- Print out the packing list and pack luggage (!!)
- Charge iPod, mobile and camera battery
- Purchase travel insurance

i feel like im underwater, and everything's moving in slow-mo. i feel a little detached and weirded out today. my usually messy table really got to me today, something that's not quite right since i'm used to my organised chaos and i cant seem to finish my programming stuff despite having more than enough time to get it done.

i'm okay, or at least i think i will be.. just give me some time, let me mope around for a bit before i pick myself up, square my shoulders and soldier on bravely in life. i know everything happens for a reason, i know this is just one of the trials and tribulations in life i have to go through to become a better person, but somehow right now i just can't rise above it all...

at times like this, i wish my inner voice would scream out loud to be heard to lead me to the path to take, but it remains silent, and i'm lost once again. no, i dont need a listening ear, only i will have the solution myself and i don't feel the need to share anything with anyone, sorry..

for people who care, thanks :)
shout out to my sister who has always been there for me when i needed someone to talk to, to give me a hug, to wipe away my tears that just won't listen to me.. =) you are my awesomest sister and i would never trade anything for you. thanks for everything you've done for me, i love the office goddess (how befitting for me!) sign and the pack of happiness quotes. and to her boyf xl, thanks for the katjes candies!

on a sidenote, i've gotten my employee ticket to MAA. :) this is a much needed break for me to escape for a few days, and prolly get my emotions all under control.
i think ppl in the office have started 'zhng'ing themselves... from haircuts to getting their attire for MAA... hahaha! this is gonna be fun and i'm glad i gotta be part of the fun before i leave :)

[edit]
because i left my pda at home and i'm feeling all over the place right now...
tuesday: lunchtime facial at 12:15pm, pick up dress, theory revision at 8pm
wednesday: pick up shoes after work at Expo
thursday: manicure quickie, pass weicai kino card after work

the SHAPE experience

So I went for 4 classes yesterday - Pilates, StretchFit, Yoga and Yogasana with one intention in mind, which is to stretch out all my muscles in preparation for the SHAPE run. After class, Ariel and I had our dinner at Lerk Thai and we went shopping at Causeway Point :) I managed to find a pair of shades that's similar to the one I saw in River Island! *beams* I really enjoyed our time together, it's not often you find a friend that you feel comfortable hanging out with :)

So I got home around 9ish, and I just slacked till around 10ish-11 where panic started setting in. With the help of my sister, I managed to lay out my clothes, filled up the vital information on the back of my number tag, packed my bag with all essential items and read up on the route. YES, I only knew of the route and all last night! Now you should understand why I panicked hahaha.
=P

I ended up sleeping at around 12ish, clocking in slightly less than 5 hours of sleep but I felt pretty much awake. I guess the adrenaline already started pumping in my body hahaha! I took my shower, prepared my peanut butter sandwich (peanut butter is my latest addiction!) and just stuck my feet into the uSqueez to massage my feet and legs. Soon it was 6am, and I made my way out.

As I walked to the bus-stop, I enjoyed how quiet my neighbourhood was in the early morning and how cool the air was. I felt alone beacause I wasn't meeting Joyce/ Geraldine/ Jiewei, but I saw a lady who was also taking part in the SHAPE run walked towards the bus-stop. We both smiled at each other and suddenly I didn't feel so alone after all :)

It was quite an interesting sight on the train. At every stop, a couple of ladies will board the train to make the journey down to City Hall. In the words of our TVproduction 'gay' script, we were "bloody everywhere"!! =P I can't help but feel 'united' in a way despite running is pretty much an individual sport.

Upon reaching City Hall, it was already 7ish. Quickly deposited my bag at the baggage counter and made my way to the start line. I needed the toilet and the queue was damn long!! I also spotted Jiewei and Ziwei at the 5km starting area and I joined them. =D

Well well... I enjoyed the run, alot. I enjoyed the scenery of the CBD area... So much better than the 1st year in my opinion. :) I'm glad that I managed to jog all the way without stopping to walk unlike the previous year. I think having a good playlist helped in providing the motivation (other than perseverance and willpower) as I am quite dependent on music. *I achieved my personal best to date, and I can't wait for the personal certificate to be mailed!* After finishing the run, I grabbed the cup of water and H2o and immediately headed for the sports massage and we didn't have to wait too long. The lady really released the tension from my left hamstring and I felt normal for once. :) But the queue for the goody bag was a killer. I don't know why year after year, the collection of the goody bag is still such a headache. There's no clear indication of where the queue started and people get confused and form their own lines. *sighs*

After this run, I realised how much I enjoyed running and yoga. :) These two activities complement each other to a T. I like how running brings people together. I was making my way out of the sports massage tent when this lady started talking to me about running and asked about my run and asked if I'll be joining 10km next year. :) hehehe I'm thinking of attempting the nike 10k run, I wonder if I'm making a suicidal move since my plantar arch is aching like crazy now and if I would really finish the run without being carried out... and 10, 000 people running together... it's gonna get quite crowded =\ decisions... decisions..

Countdown: 2 days!

It was almost months back when I signed up for the SHAPE run online. And just in another couple of days, I'll be at the Padang, early in the morning to do my run. This year, I'm on my own, with no cheerleader on the sideline waiting for me to cross the line. But I'm okay, I'm good, I'll prolly finish the run, collect my goody bag and make my way back to Jurong for Thai class anyway before heading out again to meet the kettle for some roller-blading action :)

I've stepped up on my training routine and the last time I did 5km on Wednesday, my timing was a 30m 26s. I just hope and pray that I can perform just as well as outdoors... *cross fingers* I've given myself a break since then because my achilles tendon and plantar arch is showing signs of fatigue, and all I can do is to rest, rest, rest and elevate my hardworking feet.

Tomorrow, I'll do nothing more intensive than pilates and yoga. No running, no over-exertion allowed!

Guardian angels, please bless me with cool, breezy weather during the run and keep the red sea away till Monday. Please grant me the resolution to keep going and never doubt in my capabilities to finish my run.

Notes to self:
- Charge iPod nano and put earbuds on earphones.
- Continue to keep legs elevated when sleeping.
- Stretch, stretch and stretch!

Ok, I've been missing in action and leaving my blog void of updates because life is happening and I'm stilly trying to catch my breath.

Let me think what has happened recently:
- Checked out the Toy & Comic Convention, got some tokidoki stickers and bracelet. Received 2 fans as a freebie! =D Saw my cousin dressed up in a hideous looking costume =X

- Went to lil Claire's place, soaked in the pool, took several pictures of Kate Rose in her awesome swimsuit and went for dinner at T3! =D We ate at Crystal Jade and then we walked around a little. I think Claire can take nice pictures, should post them up when I get home tonight from Yogasana class. =)

- Met up with sec sch friends for dinner in HV. Had a blast of a time laughing away, thanks to Chang for being the source of entertainment. I have never seen this side of him before!

- Went over to the airport to send Yi-Long off after catching 10 Promises to my dog with the kettle. I drew something for him on his card and I'm glad it made him laugh when he read it =D

- Tried my hands at programming. It's a little tedious (time-consuming for a newbie like me), but I guess I'll get the hang of it pretty soon. It will be tough to juggle both my current jobscope and this new temporary addition to my jobscope, but hey if I get through these 3 months, I can get through any tough times lying ahead. :)

- I'm in dire need of sleep. =( I'll be getting a new phone soon! =D Took my Thursday and Friday off, so I can R&R because on Saturday, we're gonna partayyyyyyyyyyy!! *beams*

I think it's incredibly sweet for someone to drop you a text message out of the blue when a certain fragment of memory had been invoked.

I don't know if you come by here, but I thought I'd just let you know when that song plays on my iPod, I'd get reminded of the happy times we've shared :)

Top 5 signs that tells you that Kelly is busy + stressed up at work:

#1 --> She doesn't blog, for a week or so.
#2 --> The TV on the table doesn't get switched on at all.
#3 --> She doesn't take proper lunches because she slogs through her lunch break and survives on soup.
#4 --> She doesn't have any spare time to check out blogs and forums/ other websites.
#5 --> She thinks about work over the weekend, something that's highly unusual.

Work is such a huge pain in the arse at the end and start of the month =( I'm starting to learn programming because I'll be taking over Nick Japan while one of the colleagues goes on maternity leave, it seems fun so far, I hope I'll get the hang of it and I'll be able to juggle everything well.

Anyway, I just started on Thai conversational course! =) We spent the first lesson learning the pronounciation and tonal marks, very interesting.... Can't wait for the next lesson on Sunday!
