Singapore Fireworks Celebrations Festival (17th August 2007)
Bern managed to get enough tickets to the fireworks display. So I met my mum, aunt and sisters at Suntec before meeting Bern to collect the tickets. My younger sister was complaining of hunger, so we decided to go to Marina Square to look for food. All the fast-food outlets had snaking queues! I guess everyone wants to get a piece of the fireworks display between mouthfuls of food yeah? In the end, my mum tabaoed cakes from Secret Recipe and my hungry sister finished it in no time.

Bern was one busy boy; after he met us and led us to our seats, he had to leave us to go and work. The emcees were working the crowd, giving away goodie bags when the questions were answered correctly. The show started quite late as the guest-of-honour was stuck in the traffic jam. Yup, the traffic was really terrible on my way here. It opened with a lights display show, some kites flying around the sky and then the part we were waiting for: FIREWORKS!

I don't understand why my camera can't take fireworks properly using the fireworks mode. >=[ After the fireworks, we all left the place. The human traffic was crrrrraaaazzzzeeeehhhh! My mum was going on and on about safety and yadayada heh. We went to grab a bite before walking my aunt and younger sister to the bus-stop where they will take a bus back to my uncle's place whereas the rest of us headed home :)

WOMAD (24th August 2007)
Won complimentary tickets for WOMAD! :) Met Bern earlier in the day for dimsum restaurant near my uncle's place. I enjoy my food!

After that, we walked around Chinatown before heading to his relative's place and hung out for a while before heading to Fort Canning Park.

WOMAD was a good experience. :) It was nice to see people enoying music and hopping/dancing along to it. I love Daara J's performance! It was so energetic and it's hard not to be infected by their hyperactivity! They were bouncing off the stage with so much energy man. :)

MTV Unsung Hero Face Off @ MOS (1st Sept 2007)
Before this, I headed back to school for Magnum's EGM. :) It was nicely put together, and the documentary of the current team's road to Nationals 2007 was... heartwrenching. I could hear sniffles behind me. The editing was nicely done, and I'm sure with the footage that was filmed, a different story would be put together if the results came out victorious. Wellwell.. I'm sure the team will work harder together and pull through the tough times :)

So yup, the event was oooook. The crowd was lukewarm, but hey as long as I had my friends around, it's a good night. :) We went to take pictures at the Blingmaker station! hahah It was my first time in a club =X and it's nice to know it's a smoke-free environment hehe. We watched the beeper-to-bes censoring the rapper's F*$#!s, potential rockstar catchers catching filled gunny sacks and ducking those with underwear on them and the fashion show that paraded the blingmaker's pride and joy.

Kate Loves Heels  (Irregular Choice S08) Preview Party (8th Sept 2007)
Dropped by SurrealistLoveScene on a sunny Saturday afternoon for Irregular Choice's preview party. Love nice lovely heels! Fiona was really a great host, making conversation and ensuring that no one felt left out. We were given some papers to fill up regarding the shoes we like and stuff. And of course, I went ahead to try shoes too! A pity that most shoes no longer had size 36. Bummer!!

Trying Angel Wings in size 37. *picture courtesy of SurrealistLoveScene's blog* It felt really comfortable, but slightly looser than how I usually wear my slippers/sandals. I think it's really nice! :)

That's all for now, will add more pictures in time to come :)

Yupyup, I'll be peddling my stuff (read: clothes, CDs, skincare products, shoes, accessories, etc) tomorrow with Mag and Bern. I'm all ready to clear all my stuff! :) May I go home with empty hangers, empty boxes and a bulging wallet! Do come by and say "Hi" if you're in the area hehehe.

May there be breeze, sunshine and a good crowd tomorrow! :) *cross fingers*

It's been quite a while since I last wrote an entry and that's because....

I'm addicted to Facebook! :D If you're not on it, get on it! I've got a fluffpet as well, so feed it and pet it too! But I'm having difficulty locating my secondary and primary school friends yet though.... =( So people, add me if you see this!

Recently our TV at home died on us, and we can only see the images on the bottom half of the screen as the top half died. So now, we have a spanking new Samsung 42" LCD TV!! =D Not only that, mummy also bought uSqueez. Now we are awaiting its delivery. Can't wait! I hope my dad won't use it immediately without showering first after getting home from work. >=( It's sucha a disgusting thought to stick your dirty feet into the foot massager. Yikessss.

Last week, I met up with my polymates, Yi-Long, Daryl and Ju Leen for lunch at Manhattan Fish Market! :) It was nice seeing them again... Hahaha, the last time I saw Yi-Long and Daryl was at Shuling's 21st birthday celebration. The last time the 4 of us had a meal together was during our poly days... and I remembered that Daryl was quizzing us the capitals of countries when Ju Leen told her her amazing discovery that Beijing is the capital of China! Hahaha.. those were the days :) Yi-Long and Daryl will be embarking on their all-expense paid trip to OZ! Daryl always have all the luck eh... always winning money from soccer betting, and now this! Hahaha... and Ju Leen's trying to exchange flights for the days that the two of them are in OZ... Guess that they will have a ball of a time over there :)

As you would already know, the trees in my neighbourhood have become a sensation almost overnight. Last weekend, there were so many people crowding the trees! Cars were lined along the kerb and it was causing a massive traffic jam. Safety was compromised as people walked freely on the road, and I could no longer jay-walk every evening on my way home. And people really know how to cash in on the situation. Smart ice-cream sellers relocate themselves to this site and I think they made a killing. From one stall on day one to 6(!!!) stalls on a stretch of 200m, you know the business must be really good. And this fella put up placards selling pictures "monkey memorabilia" for 2 bucks!

I'm really cool with people who wanna pray to deities in trees, but I really cannot stand it when they irresponsibly parked their cars on the road instead of in the carpark, causing incessant honking. And I don't like it that they come to ask for numbers from the gods and screaming at the top of their lungs "Huat ah! Huat ah! Huat ah!" in the middle of the night. It's really crazy I tell you, at 1am in the morning, there were still so many people! Over the weekend, whenever I felt bored at home, I would pop by the window and check out the drama unfolding downstairs. And oh! I even saw people decked in SPI t-shirts. interrrrrrresting.

You know... I think this LV Damier Trevi is really pretty :)

Alrighty, more next time!

B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

I'm not sure if you read the evening news on some Chinese daily papers yesterday about this particular tree with carvings of monkeys along Jurong West St 42, but if you haven't now you will.

'Monkey God' in tree trunk? You decide
Residents of Jurong West Street 42 have had much to shout about in the past 24 hours, with tales of mystical apparitions spurring hopes for lucky 4D numbers.

Many living around the area are flocking down to a tree right outside Block 431 to pay their respects to a trunk that they believe houses the spirit of the legendary 'Monkey God'.

Claire Huang went to take a look. <<- click!

This evening on my way back home, the crowd was getting bigger, and they were pointing their cameras and handphones to another tree beside the tree with the imprint. I heard from my sister that another monkey carving has been found on the other tree as well. Gosh, these trees are making people go bananas!

Day 3: Harbour Town + Brisbane + Surfers Paradise beachfront night market

Day 3 now! After breakfast, we made our way to Harbour Town to pick up where we aim to continue shopping up a storm! It was another long ride, but I like long rides :)

It was a fruitful trip! =D I've gotten new underwear from Kookai, a new Nike gym top (according to my StretchFit instructor, that colour cannot be found in Singapore!), an Esprit top for my sister and many more!

My shopping loot in front of the iconic Nike Factory Store at Harbour Town!

We had Turkish food, and boy the serving was damn big! But I managed to finish everything, sans the bit of vegetables. Then it was time to make a trip down to Brisbane for a walkabout.

We took a bus to get to Helensvale railway station where we'll be heading a train ride to Brisbane.

Here's where we are headed! :)

While killing time...

*Monster!*

Finally the train came and we were well on our way! Another hour long journey....

I don't know, but travelling in GC has been... really nice. This sense of tranquility can't be found when I take buses in Singapore, and I wonder why. I feel recharged everytime I get off the bus/train, but all the time when I'm back in Singapore though. I think it gotta do with the TVMobiles and irritating people who insist on sharing music with the whole bus. ^&#$%@#!

As we pass through the industrial area (my assumption), there were lots of graffitti on the facades of the buildings. :) Really interesting and pretty.

Soon, we are here!

This place feels like Orchard Road back at home :) Bustling. It's slightly warmer here in Brisbane, like walking in an air-conditioned bubble. We wandered around Brunswick Street and Queen St Mall...

Lovely architecture they have here :)

It was getting dark and it's time to head back to GC for some beachfront night market browsing at Surfers Paradise! The train ride back was slightly more crowded, but we got seats and we napped our way back :)

This beachfront market takes place every Wednesday and Friday. The Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets has a selection of locally made gift ideas ranging from accessories, crafts, artworks, beauty products, homewares, jewellery and music. There was even a stall set up for palm-reading!

Now, we are gonna get some dinner at McDonalds' and head back for an early night because we're gonna be picked up really early the next morning. We ate at Macs, had some chicken fillet burger thingy that taste quite nice. Btw, you gotta pay for the sauces unlike here in Singapore. :)

End of day 3!
