Turning 21st!

First of all, I wanna thank everyone who took time off on Sunday (when people usually wanna laze around) to come to my birthday party! :) I wanna say that I'm overwhelmed by the gifts. :) I really love them!! Please pardon me if I haven't been a good host, I won't give excuses for myself but trying to make everyone feel comfortable has been really tiring and by 8ish, a headache was creeping up already. I'll blog more about it this weekend when I have the time. :)

Work's been really crazy (I know I've said this nth time and you know it's really true when I always wanna update but I can't even find the time to access blogger at work) and all I wanna do when I get home these days (lucky if I come home by 8ish) is to get a nice shower, chill in front of the TV while getting my legs massaged, and then pop into bed.

I'm really happy :) My family is in Korea, having the time of their lives freezing their asses off and I thought my mum would probably not do anything since I told her that she don't need to give me an angbao since she's paying for the buffet and made all those yummy treats already. Butbutbutbutbut, she left a note to Kelda, telling her to give me the prepared angbao on my birthday! *feeling loved* At the stroke of 12midnight, Kelda shouted "Happy Birthday" into my ear and I got a shock because my feet were planted in the uSqueeze and I couldn't move =p She bought the SaraLee pound cake thinking that no one bought a cake for me. Bern came out with my birthday cake as well..... *feeling so loved* And I receive my presents and I can't be anymore happier =D I received my HairSpray vcd, Lomography book and my Supersampler!! =D

I'm feeling really blessed right now and thanks to everyone who made my day!

Countdown: 2 days!

Have taken the day off to chill, relax and run some errands :)

Had a nice breakfast at the kopitiam with my younger sisters, granny and mummy. After that we went walking around the neighbourhood, it's been a while since I did that hahaha. Bought sparkling juices for the party coming up on Sunday and some marie biscuits to munch on at home should I get hungry.

It was really early, say 9ish when we finished the shopping. Granny and Kelila wanted to get their hair trimmed at the neighbourhood salon, but it was still closed. So we sat down at the playground, as we watched the lazy neighbourhood slowly stir from its slumber. :)

Gonna bring granny and Kelila out to City Plaza for a lil shopping before heading over to Claire's place nearby for a swim! :) Gonna pack my FishEye, think we'll get some pretty good shots in the sun.

Checklist:
- Buffet catering: CONFIRMED!
- Cake: CONFIRMED!
- Guestbook: purchased, waiting to get bling-ed up :)
- Polaroid film: to be bought

P/S: Oh yesyes, please take a picture with me at the party as a thank-you-for-coming gift! :)
P/P/S: Also remember to leave a message on my guestbook!

On a Sunday night...

I know I'm a little slow about catching the Heroes fever. Bern had been telling me to catch it when it first came out, but I didn't make the conscious effort to catch it because in my head I was thinking, "what can be more enjoyable than my frivolous episodes of Desperate Housewives?" But boy, I was surprised. I caught the first 2 episodes of Heroes on Channel 5 and I'm hooked. Basically the show is about ordinary people discovering that they have extraordinary powers.

My favourite character gotta be Hiro Nakamura, he's the only one who's really embracing his powers! :) I would really love to teleport from country to country with my suitcase; hence saving on the expensive air tickets and airport taxes, which means I'll have more money to do my shopping with! Having Claire's impressive powers of tissue regeneration would be amazing if you're involved in physical sports; just think of suffering a sports injury like a fracture and having to just wait for mere minutes (instead of months) for your injury to heal. :) So yupyup, I spent my Sunday morning watching up to episode 6, I think Catherine's burning season 1 for me so I shall wait patiently.

I can't believe it, the party's gonna take place coming Sunday! Time really flies... I better get my guestbook and inform the caterer on the number of pax soon... So exciting! :)

I'm finally home early today.

My body has finally succumbed to the week's workload, constant worrying and stress of meeting datelines. My throat feels sore, my nose drips and there's a slight ache in my ear. =( I went to see the doctor, was prescribed a whole load of medication, received my MC and hailed a cab home after completing the remaining work of the day. Had a good nap, until the stupid %^$%#@#^ planes woke me up. -.-

Sleep is such luxury these days. I haven't been doing masking on a nightly basis as I'm always home late (due to OT) and all I wanna do is to jump into the shower and tuck myself into bed. So later on, I shall pamper my face. Been breaking out due to the usage of wrong products. =( From now on, I shall only use things that work for my skin instead of experimenting.

Finally catching up on my forty winks tonight...

In office pretty early today. Work's been crazy and I want to get a headstart. :)

IT'S 15TH! PAYDAY! :) And we're having a nick sale in the office again! I think this year's merchandise looks quite enticing from the outside, and I've withdrawn 50 bucks earlier on in the morning hahaha =P Hope to get some good buys later on...

Alrighty, back to work!

What I want for my 21st

Guide to getting Kelly a birthday present:
Rule #1 - Get something that she will use.
Rule #2 - If in doubt, ask, and she will answer.
P/s: This list will be constantly updated :D

1. Fisheye Submarine
I think it's not wise to get another lomocam until I master my present cams, so I think this is a wonderful add-on for my Fisheye2. :) *pssst* It's expensive at both Page One and Kino, so do check out Objectifs at Bugis :) BTW, I already have fotoclips and the fisheye cutter, so no need to get me those!

2. Fragrances

Lulu C in Paris - LuluCastagnette is on of the emblematic fashion French brand known for its humorous and adorable visual identity code: the teddy bear. The style is casual and glamorous with a health balance between girly and active look. That represents perfectly the Parisian lifestyle; the Parisian spirit.

Anna Sui - Anna Sui's Dolly Girl Eau de Toilette combines sweet grapefruit, melon, orange blossom and amber musk notes, but it's the adorable vintage judy-head bottle that has us saying "Ooh la la." The Dolly Girl line also includes a pretty-packaged body lotion, and both come in quilted lavender boxes that trace Dolly's romantic and retail adventures through the streets of Paris.

Basically, I like fragrances that are light, breezy and fruity, nothing heavy to bring on a headache :) I tested both before and I really like them hehe

3. Bath & Body Works products
- Black Raspberry Vanilla Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel
- Temptations Body Lotion Sassy Strawberry Mint
I can't say how much I love Bath&BodyWorks products!

4. Gemstones
I think a lot of people don't know but I'm interested in gemstones healing (like how i'm interested in numerology and tarot-card readings). Different stones have different properties, and I think it would be really nice to receive a nice bottle filled with a mixture of rose quartz, kunzite, aquamarine and citrine crystals :) I wouldn't mind it being in a form of an accessory like a bracelet or necklace too!

5. HairSpray DVD
*You can't stop the beat!* Enough said :)

6. Skincare products - Kose Mask White, Kiehl's Yerba Mate Tea Lotion, La Mer Moisturising Gel-Creme

6. Books
I like reading self-improvement books. *geeky smile*

7. Vouchers
Would really appreciate if I can get vouchers from Surrealist Love Scene (ooh, I can get my Irregular Choice shoes!), Skin Revival, Nike, Forever21, TopShop etc.

8. AOP "Any Other Present"
If you think you know what I like, you can try giving me stuff that's not on the list. If you need to know, I'm a Topshop 6-8, shoe size 36. Nice dresses, and tops are very welcome :)

People, keep your November 25th free for me! :)

I'm turning 21!
I think my uncle and aunt-in-law are more excited than me (I'm holding my party at their place) - every week when I go to their place for dinner, they will ask me if my friends drink red wine or prefer beer, and they bought wine glasses, balloons and some decorations already. hahaha My aunt-in-law will remind me to check out the birthday cake and food catering menus, and tell me not leave everything to the last minute. :)

Timeline:
- Confirm cake + choice of caterer by this week
- Invites to be distributed by next Monday

I can cook!

Yesterday, I cooked for the first time without any supervision! Usually there would be someone who would be near/beside me, like my mum or Bern :D I spent most of my afternoon checking out recipes, buying the ingredients for the marinate, etc. It was fun! :)

I had my fair share of hesitations when it comes to wondering if the oil is hot enough, if the fish is cooked enough because I really don't wanna get scalded by the oil or cause anyone to experience diarrhea. *looks at Bern* hahahha. So presenting to you.... My hard work!

It smelt really yummy, and I gobbled up my piece in no time. I saved a piece for Bern and the other for my sister. My other sisters were eyeing the fillet too after I let them have a taste of my slice =D

Kelda came home pretty late and I went off to bed after telling my sisters to inform Kelda to try the fish fillet and she stuck a note on my desktop:

So sweet lah! :) *feeling loved*
In my defence, the fish fillet she had was the last one that I fried, so it was soaking in the marinade the longest... So probably that's why it was salty. =P Now, I'm in the mood to experiment and try out more stuff! *rubs hands in glee*

I love hardcore Pilates classes. Donald used to teach Pilates on Saturday mornings, but now he's replaced by Jenni. I like her "slow controlled torture" style alright, but because she's so nice, I tend to slack off on mornings where I feel a little less motivated =x But with Donald, there's no chance of doing so because I attended his class ever since I started my membership with Amore. He keeps pushing me to my limits, and everytime I walk out of the studio satisfied, knowing that I had truly worked out. So last Tuesday when I went for my occasional dose of Pilates at ParkMall (where Jenni was the instructor), I was in for a (good) surprise.

Jenni is no longer the permanent instructor there!! Carmela took over her classes. =D
I like Carmela's style, similar to Donald's. We worked with dumbbells and gymsticks. Jenni conducts the class in an "own time, own target" format, but it's not the case for Carmela. We worked as a class together, and I like it this way better :) I guess I'll be popping into Amore on Tuesdays more often now hehehe.

I like StretchFit because it's a combination of Yoga and Pilates, which means it's a great workout for flexibility and abs conditioning. After class yesterday, Cheryl asked me to attempt an advanced posture (shown below) because she thinks I've got enough strength in my arms to support myself.

Madness!! 0.o

I didn't manage to do it, so taxing on my arms! Just like how I used to have goals when I was cheerleading, this is my motivation to go for Power Yoga classes (if schedule permits) =D
